Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

Yes, that‘s a J-20, but holding a model of a certain type at an Air Show is not equal to „we are getting them“!
Why are you getting so angry now?

That Chinese officer gave this model to an Iranian officer.

Is giving these models as gifts normal and has nothing to do with solding them?

repairing 3 craters and 1 small building in 5 months?
That is not true;

There are reconstruction of at least three air bases;

Hamedan (with new hangars)

Kermanshah

Bandar Abbas

In these last cases in both air bases are being newly paved.

You don´t reinforce the airstrip if you won´t buy new aircrafts.

There are also other minor modernizations.

Payam airport in Karaj. But this is a civil airport.

At Shahin Shahr the airstrip have been enlarged one kilometer with new arresting gears that sugges that HESA will test new aircrafts, although we don´t know if they will be civilian or military ones.

Day after day seems evident that IRIAF and/or airlines will receive new aircrafts.

By the way. Google maps suggest that there have been some damages in buildings inside HESA factory.

Could it be produced by israeli attacks over Isfahan?

I‘m not angry? Why do you think so?

I only want to make clear that this is just a gift, a model, NOTHING more and contrary - just look over at X for example - to some stupid fan-boys which are already celebrating I want to bring them back to reality!

It's just a model of a J-20 fighter, it probably doesn't mean there's a contract for these aircraft in the works, but it's a clue and we can work on it and.... if China really supplies the J-20s to Iran, and Iran eventually receives all the Su-35s purchased from Russia, then the capabilities of Iranian fighters will increase exponentially

China would never export J-20 as it contains too much sensitive tech to fall into western hands. It hasn’t even exported its FC-31 which is the most likely next gen fighter China would export.

The first customers of either jet would be Pakistan, not Iran.

Why would Xi piss off Donald and the West by selling 5th gen fighters to Iran? There is very little benefit for China and a whole lot of possible downsides.

Azerbaijan's severe shortcoming is just 3 open FABs with no exceptional or out of ordinary Air-Defence. They lack reliable integrated EW assets as well which they have been looking for some time. If need be (I hope not as an Azeri), IRGCASF can fire some 50-80 Fattah/KS hypersonic, Ghadr-F (exo/endo atmospheric MaRV) at each FAB to make sure no plane lands back or takes off. May be K-4 with submunitioned PBV. Meaningless news anyways but deterence is there.
motorways exist for wartime flights/landings.
Small weapon/fuel loading teams can be dispersed for operational needs.
Without air superiority, you don't know where to hit.

Unfortunately you´re right.
They didn´t export J10CE to Irán, it has no sense to talk something about J35, and let alone J20.
And again. IRIAF cannot operate happily a 5 gen aircraft (J35) without having experience in latests chinese avionics, sensors and engines. It is like jumping from F5 to Su35 without Yak130.

The president of the United States is coming to DC for the 7th time in a little over a year . I wonder if Iranian Shaheds are configured to carry AA missiles for the war .

Venezuela is Out, if Iranian oil also becomes Out for China, Beijing is left with only Russia, and at that point, the price of gas and oil could become less cheap.
Furthermore, if Iran, after a war that no one hopes for, becomes more subject to US wishes, China and the BRICS countries risk losing access to alternative routes to current trade routes.
So I think China could review its methods of exporting modern weapons and fifth-generation aircraft and train Iranian pilots to fly these modern aircraft, as the Russians are doing with Iranian pilots for the SU-35.
Xi, assessing the risk for China, could certainly change his mind and ignore the risk of irritating Donald Trump and the West.

hints that Su-57 is on the way ?!

but first we should wait for su-35
Military watch magazine suggests that Russia has signed a contract with a Middle East country for Su57. Guess which country is.

While Military watch magazine is generally bullshit, I cannot avoid to link this picture with that information. Anyway It will take years to see a single Su57 in IRIAF and the only confirmed purchase It is for some Su35.

yak-130 to su-35 to su-57 is a logical progression in the long term, Iranian pilots need some years to get prepared for this too

they should crowdfund and get local kids to cover the craters for quicker than this

Even a 10 billion USD/ year funded IRIAF cant fight against USAF/USN+IAF or save itself from being rubbled on ground. I am glad force is being rebuilt but I dont want it to happen at expense of IRGCASF which is the actual deterrent here. Remember Israelis and US want missiles and nuke gone, they have zero objection of consistent or projected arrivals of Yaks, Mils, Migs, SUs.
