Pakistan Air Force | News & Discussions

I was sitting with two former PAF officials today, one of them was an air chief a couple of years ago. This topic came up, and they did mention that there are certain aircraft China wouldn't openly sell until Pakistan as itself has a bit more to give back similarly to how they'd do for the US when it comes to certain interests....

And as far as quality is concerned, they learned their lessons in picking certain Chinese aircraft in the past where pilot's evaluations weren't necessarily the best indicators (after all none were engineering or experimental test pilots). The bulk of the requirements have come extensively through lessons learned on the F-16 program, subsequently on JF-17s and then on the decisions to obtain the J-10CP...and potentially J-35A once it is mature enough......
Hi,

Indeed that issue has come up. Our personal should not have run to DC after the may 2025 clash---should have kept their heads low---shut their mouths and acted like nothing had happened. Acting STUPID in front of the world would have been the best action in the aftermath---.

But sadly---the PAF loves to brag and STRUT around---. They have NO TACTICAL SENSE of national security---operational security---national interest---and last but not the least---the price that the nation of Pakistan will have to pay in the long run---.

You can tell that to those two.

It was not a run to DC....it was a scheduled visit for a number of things. Probably "acting stupid" already is evident for what they have done in the past, this was likely one of the ways to demonstrate their commitment and capabilities to a certain extent (actual figures and events are subject to discretion. @AeronautIR knows much more about it.....)

The price was that they put Pakistan ahead in short and long runs....whether it was May 2025 or February 2019 or prior and after that.......there are certain things to dislike them for......

No need to tell them anything sir, they did a better job in the service far ahead of you and myself irrespective of their shortcomings......

There are many here who insulted me for drinking kool-aid of PAF achievements, because it was all a lie unless satellite imagery is shown to them. There was some ranting about paying taxes and how military should tell them everything under freedom of information etc. Our likings/dislikings make the opinions biased, whether we didn’t tell the public enough or we told too much. 🤷‍♂️
I don't think we can reach a consensus about it here but personally, I am quite satisfied with PAF decisions.

@AeronautIR and others, Social media is reporting that the Mirages are going to get AESA radars, some posts even quote 40 to 45 a/c's will be upgraded. Any truth to this rumor ?

I don't think so. Mirages are on last leg of service.

Makes no sense given the airframe lifespans of the plane that is left. There has been enough time to experiment with upgrades and PAC/PAF have decided to not do so. Both these, and the F7P/G's need to be retired and replaced with JF17C's asap.

The following is an example of how both Ukraine and Turkieye are using tablets to integrate new weapons onto closed loop platforms and we have not seen PAC/PAF be this creative on the Mirages/F7PGs at all.

Some whispers and my own analysis based on those, success comes with the "cost", in literal terms. That happened with Chinese products in the aftermath of May, kinda put spanner in the works, financially. That peculiar tweet from Shahbaz Shareef and later redacting it, then all the silence, they may have sorted things out at the highest levels later on.

This paragraph is badly written. I know some times it's autocorrect that ruins sentences.... but I can't tell what you're trying to say regarding china and U.S.

China won't sell some thing until Pak gives them back something...?? (what?.....similar to to how who'd do what for U.S.?

Thank God for that, and Thank You for the confirmation.

Hi,

PAF smashed the myth of the white super power to kingdom come in the 4 / 4.5 gen fighter aircraft realtime in minutes.
The west's air power rojection that they had created for the last many a decades crashed like a deck of cards---.

PAF has opened the gates for any country with a nominal budget to project their air power on a totally different plateau---.

Scheduled visits could be cancelled for an 'in war scenario'.

Let's wait and see where some of these 'going to be retd. officers' end up---.
