I mean, look around, Europe had its share of nobility and posh circles.....America has the the good old capitalists and cultists now taking charge......MAGA is exactly what you described here. Align with them or be left in the dust.

BJP is another example, you align with them or perish. Pretty everywhere where there are lots of people competing for power, you will see an eventual establishment taking shape. In some places it hides behind the facade of proper organized democracy where the commoner feels his vote means something, in other places it is outright in your face dictatorship of powerful elites but you tolerate because they do better than most democracies...i.e. China.

Establishment then, finds itself as the unspoken unwritten organization of power people and it shows up everywhere, where we work (corporate politics) or where we live.

Yes, one could argue that has power accumulates it inadvertently corrupts - but the motivations can both be similar yet different depending upon the overall history, composition and cultural aspects of the country/region. Because at the end, no matter what the now "bloodline" claims are FM Asim Munir likely shares a LOT of genetic composition with a large percentage of Pakistanis as does Imran Khan as does Sharif and so on.

Point being - there is no "Lizard men of Mars" in the Establishment - THEY ARE YOU with the right(timely) opportunities and the merging of character and ideas to exploit them.

The Durand line is itself difficult to monitor and man but out of the worst or most difficult areas to monitor is the southern border of wakahn corridor.. roughly 102 to 106 kms in length. Alot of militancy and supplies come from there.

The amount of effort, energy and precious bloodshed that needs to protect us from the terrorism emanating from there can be reduced significantly if we just close off the wakhan corridor, 13 kms wide.
It's way too easier to manage 13 km vs 103 kms.. just take it under "administration" and avoid a thousand cuts

Theoretically speaking, Wakhan corridor may not really have much sympathies or support for the Taliban given its a minority group that lives there. Granted that Pakistan can assure them of good treatment and they agree, it may not be difficult to manage - except for infiltration attempts which are harder without local facilitation.

I was watching a taqreer by ik in a jalsa in Peshawar where he said ! Khuda na 2 qoumainh banaye hein ek insan aur ek Pathan..... the crowd went crazy in jubilation.

But because he represented a third option compared to the usual filth everyone including the fauji types and their kids saw this guy as "Andhon mein kana raja" due to him also espousing(at least with the potential to somewhat implement in practice) social justice and system reforms which are badly needed in Pakistan even today---which is ironic in a sad sort of way because he might really up Kana.

To many that vision of Pakistani society, systems and economy reformed to be at least somewhat fair compared to the total injustice that prevails today was enough to set aside the flaws of IK and support him. To his credit he did allow many individuals who represented these ideals into his government but then his mad woman massaged his confused ego further and here we are.

The problem is because of the cult he created(a lot of which is still the core desire for all to have these positive things in Pakistan) is now associating him with a messiah instead of a lost opportunity. I have been more than vocal on the BS the establishment and its military component pulls in Pakistan with their own messiah complexes - but the issue with the Afghan problem in particular is that you have an ORIGINAL ENEMY in the Afghan "core" due to issues that go beyond durand line - and this messiah of PTI believes this Afghan core to be one of his core Pan-Pashtun ideals.

If your motivation including ethnic ideals - as it does for the Sharif animals - then you are inheritably bad for the suture of the state of Pakistan. Case in point is Ayub Khan.

The hardest part of capturing the wakhan corridor is the logistics, there is no road connection so troops would need to be deployed and supplied by Air and that also limits how many troops can be deployed and no heavy equipment.

Building a road connection could take years and billions if it's possible at all, there are also few spots to construct Airfields for C-130s
