Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

It does not resemble an F-4 wing to me. The wingtip mounted missile appears to be similar to a legacy Azarakhsh. What is under its bonnet however, I imagine would be anything but 'legacy'.

Hey, but what do I know -just keep those images coming though .... .

It's definitely an F-5, I knew it, it's in the video of this image, I got the number wrong. But the missile is new on this aircraft.

Decoys being hit

Not all were decoys
One mistake made by Iran where it could have easily picked up the lesson from Ukraine was creating realistic patterns for decoys.
Give them cheap IR signatures and move them around in the same pattern as actual jets.

No actual evidence has been seen of jets being bombed except SU-22 MK3/M4 of IRGCASF which, God knows, serve what purpose. Atleast I have not seen anything. 12 days war and this one, both times F-5E/F, F-14A/AM and now F-4E/D decoys have been hit in numbers despite the videos of them being towed in place to be hit.

What is mind boggling is that company that makes these decoys of all fighter jets and even Khordad HIMADs, radars etc is just outside Tehran, why no one targets it instead of wasting million of USD worth PGMs/SOWs on decoys.

Bravest pilots in the world. Iran may not have the equipment but they do not lack in guts...

Iranian jet Mig 29 or yak probably looking for drones. targetting f35 is impossible for them. They are brave they can easily go down.
