Dud, there is no blockage, Iran did not plant any mines yet. It Yemen style of "blockade", good luck trying dismantle it without land invasion or you can ask nicely your insurance companies to change their policies .

You don't need mine to block the strait, the same way I don't needa land mine to block the road.....Mine is just a tool. Iran wants to block it; they don't need to do it with mine. They can, but they don't need to.

And you can counter the "Yemen" style blockade because you can only use SRBM or Naval Asset to blockade the strait of Hormuz, unlike in Yemen, there are US Air and Naval Base in the area to put up interdiction mission, but then I am here wondering why i am explaining military tactic to you when you think you need to use mine for blockade.

Again, China won't risk going to a total war with the superpower US for the sake of relieving tension on other country. No one can really control the escalation once confrontation starts.

Fog of war, friend, fog of war. If this conflict drags on and involves several more countries openly then anything is possible. As I see it, Pakistan is grabbing Afghan territory and may not return that immediately or ever.
China won't be fighting for Iran to grab Taiwan: China would be taking advantage of the fog of war and do what muscular countries do and I doubt an America in a Middle Eastern quagmire would mess with a country like China then. China is the most powerful country in its vicinity.
