With that fleet of decades-old planes the US and Israel have, don't even think about them holding up halfway through...People who don't understand military affairs might imagine war like an electronic game, but from the perspective of military science, destroying a country requires ground occupation, and conquering a nation requires political resolution. For the US and Israel to try to "bomb Iran into oblivion" with air-dropped missiles and bombs is not only impossible in physical terms (ammunition quantities, logistics, air fleet lifespan), but strategically, it would inevitably drag them into a full-scale war quagmire far more brutal than Afghanistan or Iraq.
