Trump claims war is ‘very far ahead of schedule’ and may end soon​

In a phone interview with CBS News on Monday, President Trump expressed confidence that the conflict could be resolved in the near future.

“I think the war is very complete, pretty much,” he told CBS News reporter Weijia Jiang. “[Iran has] no navy, no communications, they've got no air force. Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones.”

It’s unclear how accurate Trump’s assessment of Iran’s capabilities is at this point. On Friday, the U.S. military said it had struck more than 3,000 targetsduring the first week of Operation Epic Fury.

Earlier on Monday, the Department of Defense wrote on social media that American forces have “only just begun to fight.”

Seriously this is one big ass fumble on trumps part it showed that American forces couldn’t actually defend ships in the strait 🤦 honestly I guess trump really started to believe everyone was going to rollover for him Iran is devastated but they’re still standing and are in control of their coastal seas man I wonder how he’s going to spin this to his maga followers

It's weird because we haven't seen Mojtaba after his appointment to SL (correct me if I'm wrong), he's very silent

But the logic answer is that it's for security reasons

If it wasn’t in control the US would have been escorting the ships by now. Tells you a lot all that boasting while keeping 350km distance from Iranian shores

I would say contested if American navy was anywhere near it they have control no one gets in or out without Iranian approval I mentioned this before weird we have heard of many Iranian cruise missile attacks since that’s one of things they have more on than anything but their drones it’s basically their last line of defense if Americans naval forces decide actually go through with bluff of escorting merchant ships
 
Trumpy is a serial liar. His speeches cant be taken seriously, he could be trying to get Iran to drop their guard to kill the new leader.

Iran has taken allot of economic and military damage, for them to accept a ceasefire they need to establish a strong deterence, otherwise the US and Israel will be back again to "mow the lawn".

Primary objectives for Iran must be:
  1. Survival - territorial integrity and current government set up
  2. Survival of missile tech, manufacturing ability
Secondary objectives should be:
  1. Need to obtain deterence from future attack -
    • Removal of US bases from the region to prevent a third round of attack
    • Warn of pre-emptive attacks if feel threatened.
  2. Some semblence of Nuclear technology still around
  3. Get some guarantee's from major powers (Russia, China, global south) for economic and military support or keep the Strait of Hormuz closed.

Big Ass Fumble? Hell, yes. But Iran seems to have come off much worse off than before.
