i think their thought process was that after decapitating the leadership these gullible american fools thought the population would rise and do the regime change, that failed, then they bet on the regional muslim powers to fight iran on their behalf which also didnt seem to materialize (thankfully).

Actually I have been less than impressed with the "advanced" missiles. They don't seem better at targeting or evasion, just easier to fuel and not needing a TEL.
