Or replace them with Islamic schools that mirror established ones from abroad, decent ones in even many western nations run by Muslims.

The sad fact is no one wants to adress these root issues for any progress to even start. The only viable alternative is to hold dear the language of violence and kill those who appear without mercy

Its not the madrassas themselves which are at fault but all these clerics inside them. Pakistanis will blame madrassas but wont look deeper to point out how badly we need to enforce strict regulations and control over this cleric class and not alllow them to gain more power all over Pakistan. If not for our childrens sake then for the fact that we will be held accountable for letting them run a mockery of islam in the afterlife
 
To all the folks targeting and generalising madaris:

Try and visit one.

I have seen two madaris up close, know about another big name via a cousin who is an alumni there.

There is quite a strict stance against tribalism and عصبیت there. You can ask any moulvi about عصبیت، there stance would be clear as it is one of the basic things islam prohibits.

Just because a system is alien to us because we're too much westernised under the guise of modernisation doesn't mean we should strike at the only institution focused entirely on preserving The pure unadulterated version of islamic text.

Try studying at a madrassa in the tribal belt. Those aren't run by Taqi Usmani and Mufti Abdul Raheem. You'll see how ethnonationalism and Islamic fundamentalism go hand in hand.

Atleast You could still choose your destiny somewhat free foreign policy. Instead of ruled by someone who’s given the country up. Beggars can’t be choosers chaprasi. Its not a right thread to discuss it all

the worst part being that right after 2021 insurgencies started with 273 attacks in 2021 alone. And IK kept being apologetic to the taliban until the attacks increased by another 40% until he left in 2022. Even today he's expecting them to be the good guys and blaming the issue on others though it all started in his era after being completely eradicated, earlier in 2014.

As I said before, and not to offend any Pashtun on this forum (I also have Pashtun background), but the people of KPK especially the Pashtun have always had a soft spot for the Afghans. Its their shared identity of Afghaniyat which they take pride on based on historical reasons as well as tribal connections. This is a huge factor that Afghanistan exploits by using "our Pashtuns" for their motives. That's why remember whenever the border issues comes, they always say that its for the people to decide or they don't acknowledge it - we have seen just recently Mullah Yaqoob's reply on the Durand Line issue in which he said its the matter for people to decide and not the govt. KPK Pashtun's are Afghanistan's strategic depth inside Pakistan and a way to control Pakistani politics as well as benefiting from the socio-economic integration because Pashtun live both sides of the border. Not saying that all Pashtun think like that, but certainly there are a large number that think that way and in the past have been very keen on the Pashtunistan issue - which is still creeping up to this day. Afghans cash on that ultra-nationalistic fervor inside the Pakistani Pashtun because its their dream to have a unified state of tribal caliphate of sharia law - just as Kurds and Baloch want a unified state minus sharia governed. In addition to that, even some Pashtun who are against what has been happening inside KPK for so long and know who the real culprits are and who is controlling them, they are unable to condemn it or are restrained from their mindset. This is typical stockholm syndrome scenario where these Pashtun have accepted their fate that they can do nothing but just accept the Afghan Pashtun dominance over them.

Its high time that Pakistani think tank and planners need to understand the psychology behind it and try to deal it that way along with kinetic measures.

These are territories of Pakistan. If we know that these Afghan terrorists live their why don't the authorities? Why haven't they done anything about it?
