From my understanding the only main early warning radar left is in turkey, benefit of taking this out is not only higher impact rate (less interceptions) but also higher survivability rate of launchers as they will have more time to run away after launching.

The risk is turkey involvement or even worse, all of NATO. But NATO is already partly involved via USA, UK and France as well as munition sharing from other members. Politically speaking though it would make the coalition against Iran bigger which frames Iran more as the bad guy.

Having said all of this USA already rejected article 5 of NATO when the last missile landed in Turkey which suggests they don't want escalation and looking to end.
