In Bara, TikToker Khawarij's failed attempt to make a video giving the impression of control over the area, fleeing as soon as security forces arrived

In the Bara area of Khyber, near Dogra Hospital, the Khawarij militants stood on the road for about 10 minutes, stopping the public

According to information, they set up a temporary checkpoint for about 10 minutes, searched vehicles and individuals, and upon hearing of the security forces, they fled from there.

As soon as reports of the Khawarij's presence were received, security forces reached Shlo Bar Bypass and launched search operations in Darwaz Adda, Frontier Road, Shlo Bar, and Bara Bazaar.

7 policemen, including SHO, martyred in attack on police vehicle in KP’s Lakki Marwat​

PESHAWAR: An attack on a police vehicle martyred seven policemen, including an officer, in the Bettani subdivision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district on Friday.

The spokesman of the district police officer, Qudratullah, said that a squad of the Shadikhel police station was on routine patrol duty in the area when the terrorist attack occurred. The vehicle was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED).

The official said that terrorists had planted an IED along the Shahdikhel-Mastikhel road to target the law enforcement personnel. Six policemen, including a station house officer (SHO) and five constables, lost their lives in the explosion, he said.

The bodies of the martyred and the injured policeman were taken to the hospital. The injured cop later succumbed to his wounds, bringing the total fatalities to seven.

A large police contingent reached the area and launched a search for the perpetrators of the attack.

Dont say police.. police dont have RPGs. This isnt the job of the police..you talking about a milita an external military..this is job for the million troops that take half of budget(after interest deductions and tightly so including the pensions)

If you take half the budget you need to be able to show some results for it

First get the locals to report on where these bastards are. Some people in KPK are providing cover and then you expect the army to be everywhere. Forget a million troops, you could not do this job even with 2 million troops if the locals are abetting these TTP bastards.

Culpability for terrorism in KPK is equally shared by those citizens who abet and provide cover for these terrorists and also law enforcement if they don't take action.

Police are the most visible force in KPK and the rest of the provinces and have the most extensive intelligence collection set up. They can requisition FC/Army if the terrorist threat is grave. There are SOPs in place for the Police to get the above two forces to assist. The first step is for the citizens of KPK to report these terrorists instead of protecting their family members who have joined up with TTP.

This is the reality on the ground. A toxic mixture of support for the TTP and anti-government sentiment on account of supporting PTI.

The cost is being borne by the rest of KPK citizenry. Their girls schools are being blown up by these TTP bastards. Their police protection for polio eradication teams is being slaughtered because these cells of TTP are being given refuge and space. Another generation is growing up with major deformities that place the future of countless children in KPK on a road to nowhere, forever a burden on their aging parents. Police pickets are being attacked and the local police are having to make the ultimate sacrifice because some of the denizens of KPK are siding with TTP.

KP has seen a rise in terrorist attacks in the past year. According to the Annual Security Report 2025 from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), KP recorded a significant surge in violence last year as “fatalities rose from 1,620 in 2024 to 2,331 in 2025”.

This marked an “absolute increase of 711 deaths, accounting for over 82 per cent of the net national rise and marking almost a 44pc year-on-year surge in violence in the province”.

Last month, nine police personnel, including a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), were martyred in separate terrorist attacks in Punjab’s Bhakkar district and KP’s Kohat and Wana areas.

Only days prior to that, three Federal Constabulary men were martyred in a terrorist attack in Karak, according to officials.
