Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

It appears Qatar is no longer being targeted. Their relationship with Iran and Hamas paid off for them. The misled Saudi blockade (bizarre move imo) of Qatar pushed them to develop the existing ties with Iran.

Also Al Jazeera presentation of conflict is giving Iran a voice and drawing attention to costs of this conflict to the people of the region and elsewhere.

Iran pagered Rafi in Israel...
A major defeat for Israel
Iran systematically eliminated Israeli high-ranking commanders one by one.

This time, it is Rafi Milo. Rafael (Rafi) David Milo, born on April 17, 1972, in Kfar Yedidia, served as the commander of the Home Front Command of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) with the rank of Major General since July 2022 and was appointed as the commander of the Northern Command in August 2025.

He is the individual who intends to enter Beirut, having killed 400 Hezbollah members using pagers. Currently, Iran is launching a missile referred to as 'pager.'

But I am surprised how little grassroots opposition there has been from the public, compared to, for example, the 2003 war on Iraq. Except from the far-left Democrats and a few pure MAGA, most Democrats and Republicans are - may be slightly apprehensive and worried if things may go wrong - but otherwise holding their tongue. I think the lack of ground invasion is the main reason. There was similarly little public resentment against the 1999 NATO air attacks on Serbia.
That's because this war is unlike 2003, when we saw the damage from the ground with all the press reporting on site, we saw how brutal war is.

It would have done nothing if all the Pentagon showed was some "Call of Duty" style footage and no one was allowed to show anything anywhere in the country.

If we went in with a ground force with press embedded, this would have been another story.

Exactly, Iran has to create "regional laws" because international law was not followed by "international powers", none of them. We saw even some "allies" supporting claims against our islands.

So Iran has to create regional laws and attack the GCC piglets if they dont follow/agree with the new order and laws and reparation payments.

A charge of $10/barrel for passing through the Strait of Hormuz sounds about right. With traffic of around 20 million barrels per day, that would give Iran an income of $200 million per day. That’s $73 BILLION per year. Most likely, the money will come out of the pockets of the oil exporters.

Iran can call it reparations for war damage.

You're probably right with respect to the boots on the ground, I think this is why he still retains 80% support in the MAGA base for this war, and the Dems are still demoralized and disorganized from their election rout. I don't think they recovered yet, they don't have a clear leader they are rallying behind right now, and not having boots on the ground is likely the reason for such a muted response so far too.

But the sentiment for independents has shifted drastically already, and that is more than enough to sway the elections. This is of course cumulative from the bad optics of ICE incidents along with the cost of living and economy, epstein file and now this.... there's been a marked shift towards Democrats in that pivotal voting block. I'm not sure Trump can do much to salvage the situation either at this point unless he wraps up this conflict quickly and the economy recovers in the next 6months, which is highly unlikely.

His biggest blunder will be if he does end up putting boots on the ground and mission creep sets in and the economy tanks further. Even the MAGA base will crack, they'll be really cooked then.

I think it is more than that. I remember relatively little public opposition to the 1991 Gulf war or the 2001 Afghanistan war. Both were considered 'good' wars where U.S. was unquestionably on the 'right side'.

While true, he also did a very good job in duping the electorate for what he actually had in store for them. He ran on America first, no more wars peace president, that will focus on internal matters like immigration and the economy, and for his MAGA base also the Epstein issue, draining the swamp and all that BS.

The segment of the electorate that matters the most and swings the vote to either party are the independents. If they knew he was lying to this extent, where he would do the complete opposite of what he promised, and go on a rampage around the globe starting fires and threatening everyone with war, there is no way he would've won. Absolutely no one had this kind of war on their bingo card when they voted for him, not even his own MAGA base, despite their continued support for him so far, the majority did not want or expect this foreign adventurism and Epstein cover ups.

The biggest loss will come from the non-affiliated, they are completely opposed to him now. There's no way the Republicans survive the next mid term and presidential elections. The Dems can rerun their weakest candidates in Biden or Kamala again, or the most left wing blue haired nut job and they'd still win right now. That's how much of a hole Trump has dug for his own party. It's going to be a bloodbath, especially with the economy in the toilet.

That discussion, interesting as it might be, belongs in another thread, not here.

I doubt they will tell the real reason if there is some F up. I still remember the whole M2 Bradley Fiasco that happened when they developed the thing and how they tried to cover it up, and I was in one of those things......lol

What might eventually be revealed will probably have to wait for the end of the war, I am sure.

Israeli threats of large scale ground invasion of Lebanon appears to be no more than posturing for now

Unless they plan to exit Gaza and the West Bank, it's unlikely they commit to a large scale - large term ground invasion of Lebanon

They are claiming 4 divisions in place but there is no evidence of that
