If the US withdraws, it's the end of the US in the Middle East because its bases are partially destroyed, soldiers are dead, and others have fled. Iran will continue to launch missiles and drones there for years, and we could consider this the greatest defeat in US history.

It's not second thoughts; the reason for the lack of serious adventurism in the Middle East on the part of the Europeans is that there isn't much value to be gained, except oil, which is already within the West's influence.

None of the regional Muslim countries poses any threat to the EU as a whole. Lastly, they hate American adventurism as a result of these conflicts, which have created a backlog of refugees in the system, and locals feel their own culture and identity is being encroached upon and given rise to far-right parties.

Now, the latter point on the far-right parties can possibly come back to haunt the Muslim countries.

But make no mistake, if and when the European's want to fight, they are more than ready to tear a hole in the MENA region and wouldn't be kind.

No way, when Iran only has Israel to focus on we already saw last year how that plays out for Israel.

I would be surprised if Israel was willing to take on the barrage all by itself.

If America that has dozens of ships more advanced that their European counterparts cant do it I don’t see what Europe can at this point in in time or in the near future…..also my prediction if Russia can’t overtake Ukraine I don’t see them overtaking Germany France Poland Estonia or even Kosovo now or ever they’re not worried about Russia invading them Russians have showed their limitations as much as trump under America with Iran

The purpose of the United States, in inviting others to join, is not due to the US Navy's inability to control the Strait of Hormuz, but rather to seek legitimacy for the conflict initiated by the United States.

As for Ukraine-Russia, it's best to discuss in the other thread, but overall, it was inadequate preparation and non-existent logistics to support its forces in the interior of Ukraine, among a set of other complex issues.

LOL. Which agreement says Saudi must allow US to attack Iran? Saudi is complicit, is that so hard to understand? ....

The agreements signed decades ago wouldn't have said the facilities can be used for airstrikes on Iran.

They would've stipulated:

1. That the US can use the facilities for its military operations.
2. US could use the facilities to defend the kingdom if requested.

... Would you say Saudi is innocent and US is trying to drag Saudi into a war if those same bases were used to kill Pakistani civilians?

Why "if"?

Considering Pakistan launched it's nuclear weapons program in the early 1970s, the US, Israel and India considered launching airstrikes on Pakistan's nuclear facilities back in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, but all three chickened out each time.

NATO was in Afghanistan for 20-years, and they still did not dare attack our nuclear facilities that's despite portraying us as a terrorist state for more than decade.

They did apologise to us for the Salala incident after we blocked their logistics route to Afghanistan.

Now, while on the subject, let's just ask some very simple questions:

1. Why does Pakistan have thousands of soldiers deployed in Saudi Arabia, and does not?
2. Why have the Saudis signed a Defence Pact with Pakistan, and not Iran?
3. Why is Pakistan seen as a bridge between Iran and Saudi Arabia today instead of some other Muslim nation? There's Turkiye, Bangladesh, Indonesia, all three with bigger economy than ours.

The impunity and bluster is shouldered by reach and ability to defend against incoming. Once both are depleted then it is mano a mano... the advantage is gone... the super flex is lost. The consequences become real.

There is no point in stopping at that point without getting tangible results. The reason why there is permanent deceit at the table is because they know they don't have to follow up on their side of the bargain. So they push the other to compromise, play on their side of the field... fight them there so they don't have to fight them here... short term pain for the long term gain, mowing the grass are slogans of those playing rinse and repeat cycle because they have created a gap between actions and their consequences.
Once consequences become real than it is time to level up... play either on the other side or create enforcement that is consequential.

All that everyone has sacrificed for goes in vain... when they say time out and you settle right there ... only for them to recover and come back with a greater deceit and resources. Our nature is inherently reticent... very unlike the one employed against... that shows no remorse, no qualms and no boundaries. Anything written or agreed to is for a limited utility to serve its purpose and discarded.

really makes no sense what you said to be honest the world at large don’t see any legitimacy to this war.
Can trump take control of the straits sure first thing first hundreds of thousands of troops attempting to take over all of the coast of Iran secure those areas first than and only if they are certain that Iran can’t launch missiles than they can escort ships how long do you think it would be take for them to do that 1 to 3 years and loss of many American troops than yes I agree
