The cost of replacing the first four days' worth of munitions would be $20bn-26bn. The problem, however, is more to do with scarcity than cost. America is thought to have used more than 300 Tomahawk cruise missiles in the opening days of the war, but the Pentagon had planned to buy just 57 new ones in the current fiscal year. There have been no deliveries of THAAD interceptors since 2023 and the Pentagon has not placed any new orders this year. A puny 39 interceptors are slated for delivery in 2027—six years after they were ordered."

Congress isn't about to let it happen either. Rather than see the deactivation of a platform from 1972, they see the mothballing as a loss of jobs which is something they don't want to lose in their respective congressional districts.
Never mind the USAF / USAFR / and Air National Guard would likely replace those aircraft with something else. It reminds me when the NV ANG was phasing out the F-4. That unit transitioned to C-130s IIRC.

Would have been nice if the video footage ran longer than just the "explosion". That in and of itself should make a reasonable person suspicious.

It appears the missile missed the F-35 directly and then it detonated its proximity fuse slightly behind the F-35 and the Shrapnel warhead damaged the engine components of the F-35.

Question on everyones mind is: Did it truly made it back after a hit like that?
Video cut off right after the impact - meaning there might be a longer version out there.
