It will be a tough target to hit accurately as I imagine CEP becomes >1KM at such a long distance 4000KM, so it is more likely to miss the island and fall in the sea unless maybe they use a cluster warhead.

I can only imagine that this was a glory shot attempt with no payload on those missiles.

Iran was complaining about the German Ramstein base a few days ago and Diego has a similar range to this base from Iran. Could Iran attempt to target the German base too??? Crazy …..

Iran has a drone whic has 4000km range, with 80kg payload. Its called Shahed 136B. They showed it last year in prade but no video of usage till date.

I think people are overestimating irans capabilities of holding the strait of hormuz millitarily. If the US really wanted they can run the Strait with a SAG of 6-8 destroyers covered by aircraft and be relatively safe doing so. Even if iran was to lets say total current launch rate of 30 anti ship ballistic missiles and 30 cruise missiles and 100 drones 6-8 arleigh burkes with linked aegis and fighter cover have a relatively good chance getting in unscathed with. Possible MEU and LHD in tow. The problem is sustained fire rate. They cant stay around the strait for more than a couple days before they get overwhelmed and thus they inherently cant keep the strait open for merchant shipping if thats the case. And after they are in the persian gulf is also a very hostile environment with usvs and missiles constantly about.

Shaheed 136B has estimated range close to 4000km. Also flying in V formation at low altitude like the birds do it would save some fuel as well which is called vortex surfing. Launch 3 or 5 shaheed 136B in V formation and the ones at the sides would conserve some fuel. A theory that can be experimented with ofcourse. This can increase range to about 10% more conserving fuel so no need to fly straight predictable line.
