I think it is the "Israelis" who carried out this attack. This is a clear indication that the Iranian attack on the Negev (most likely Dimona) last night did cause damages.

Dimona needs to be decimated as retaliation for IL attacks on its nuc facilities.

Irrespective of hitting the base or note, even reaching anywhere near Diego Garcia shows Iran is revealing new capabilities. It is obvious they have been holding back a lot of capability and probably planned for a long war. What is now happening is also psychological, everytime Israel and US mouth off about degrading Iran, Iran then shows up with something new.

It will be interesting to see if Iran tries again - either with ballistic missiles, or drones.

If Iran can make that range work successfully, it does open up alot of issues for countries that are supporting the USA in providing basing capabilities and logistical support.

The new approval from the UK to allow UK bases to be allowed to be used against operations designed to restrict the Strait of Hormuz operations is significant in that it did not include Cyprus this time, only RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia, both of which were believed to be out of range for Iran.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE are moving closer to supporting the US-Israel war effort by expanding base access and preparing for a longer conflict

Officials say attitudes in Riyadh now favor supporting the US war to punish Iran, but both states warn that direct offensive action could open a can of worms

I don't know how Iran will survive with so many opponents?

there wont be any difference.. they were already doing it covertly. They will just standing in the open now.

Mind you, UAE has alottt more to loose than Iran. A few dozen drones daily from Houthis and from Iran will demolish decades of infrastructure and development. The dozen plus desalination plants if taken out will make UAE simply inhospitable for atleast a yr.

Saudia has got less to loose than UAE and mind you they would be super happy to see UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabhi) fall in grace and stature against either Riyadh or Jeddah and this war has the potential to actually do that.

I do not like this statement it assumes that they can return to those.

Iran seems to be following a strategy of unveiling more and more impressive military capabilities as the war goes on.

They just fired long-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, one of the most strategically significant U.S. military bases in the world (hosting B-52 bombers, nuclear subs, etc.), nearly 5,000km away from them in the middle of the Indian ocean.

Diego Garcia has never been hit before in any war in its 5 decades of existence, and no-one knew Iran had these types of capabilities (Iran themselves said their ballistic missile range was limited to 2,000 kilometers).

Two days ago, they also took down an "unkillable" F-35 fifth-generation fighter jet, something which has never happened before (https://militarywatchmagazine.com/article/footage-f35-iranian-air-defences).

They've also managed to take control of the world's most strategic oil chokepoint, and have proven they can hit any strategic target in the wider Middle-East, even the most protected ones (such as Israel's Haifa oil refinery: https://aljazeera.com/news/2026/3/1...hit-in-iranian-missile-attack-no-major-damage).

All in all, it sounds almost unbelievable but Iran appears to have a genuine form of escalation dominance over the United States military, with its trillion dollar budget.

In a very real way, it's even more impressive than Vietnam or Afghanistan: those countries resisted a superpower, Iran appears to be competing with one.

It also makes you think: what comes next? And that's exactly what escalation dominance is all about: keep raising the stakes until the other side blinks. It's about making Trump think "wait, I thought I was picking a fight with the skinny kid and turns out he's Bruce Lee."

Iran now has the justification to be able to develop 5,000km missiles "more openly" specifically for Diego Garcia on this basis going forward given how that base is being used for strikes now.

RAF Fairford is only 4,200km away from Iran, and Ramstein Air base in Germany is about 3,500km.

( food for thought )

Omg he is literally saying what I said earlier: the bravery of Iranians and Iranian forces are worth/are that legendary that we could create new Shahname ("book of kings" collection of ancient Iranian history and mythology, written by Ferdowsi)
