Always makes me sad that our troops are always the least kitted out and using old camo
I would put our standard soldier kit at the level of late 90s/Early 2000s US Army kit with the exception of optics on weapons which are still very rare here, things like body armour have become standard issue even amoung the FC which is a massive improvement from the the early 2010s, where soldiers were carrying gear that wouldn't be out of place in the Vietnam era.

One thing that IMO needs to be focused on is standardizing it, soldiers still occasionally wear mismatched helmets or those damn ugly black vests that ruin the whole point of camo.

I dont think the avg infranty men has a vest , and those black ones are being phased out from the looks of it.

Bulletproof vests are standard issue and have been for close to a decade now, standardization is an issue though as each individual unit chooses it's own supplier rather then standardizing on one design.

That camouflage is now reserved for the LCBs. Essentially they took up the old SSG one as the latter moved to the new pattern.

Kit for troops is an expensive proposition specially when the force is very large. However, a lot of the kit is being manufactured inside of Pakistan so we will be seeing better upgrades etc. in the future.

I believe the weight of plate insert is a real issue for PA. Soldiers in the field and on patrol sweeps tend to remove the plate inserts due their weight and restriction on movement. PA is seeking out lighter weight body armour solutions.
