Pakistan Army Small Arms

No, the rifle being procured from Sig Sauer. This:

I don't think PA would ever imagine field M-7 rifles. They could have fielded SCAR series or CZ Bren if they had the $$$. This is way off their leagues and that's why they are sticking to the old roller delayed blowback platforms and trying to indigenize it through the development of CW/BW rifles to mitigate costs - but that is also going so dead slow.

Below news not related to the thread but relevant to the discussion. This has never been talked about but does Pakistan Army operate any LMG besides the old MG3?

The Adani Group Saturday delivered the first 2,000 units of Israeli Negev 7.62×51 light machine gun (LMG) to the Indian Army called Prahar. This locally manufactured LMG will replace the 5.56 INSAS LMG.

MG3 is quite good at keeping the enemies head down and is probably cheap as compared to these..

SSG and LCBs use M249 and Minimi as their standard LMG, also seen a few RPDs and PKMs.

It's heavy as fuçk though, it needs to be modernized so it can mount optics.

US troops aren't going to want it either. Heavier than the M-4 with half the basic load out of ammo.

TBF the logic is that troops will require less ammo since they are putting harder hitting and more accurate fire down range especially with the new optic

Not directly related to this thread but How good is the TAVOR/X95 . India operates them in good numbers with their SF and Marcos . I have heard it has some design flaws and is innacurate ?
Trigger feels mushier and combat accuracy is more than 2.4 MOA, other than that really good weapon system

Have you fired it? like do you have any personnel experience with it?

That's a huge wasted opportunity by Pakistan and looks highly likely that they are puting all their bets on the roller delayed blowback mechanism into locally manufacturing their own platforms like CW and BW rifles.
What's wrong with roller delayed mechanism?
