POF doesn't export original designs (thank god) but I hear POF made MP5s are somewhat popular out thereWent to Dave & Busters arcade today, and next to it was store for all kinds of outdoor stuff, including boats, fishing, hunting etc.
I was with my friends, a friend of mine was looking for a gun so we went there, and I checked out some AR-15's, various sizes, they were a lot less heavy than i was expected, but they didn't have any magazine or bullets, maybe that's why.
Shot-guns are heavy, even without bullets.
Checked out 2 Glocks, and almost cut my finger trying to figure out safety.
Prices of AR's varies from 899-2500$, saw a Python (From Walking dead) it cost 1499$ but what a beautiful looking gun, Shot-guns were also 1000-3000$.
What surprises me is that even the optics like red-dots and stuff is so expensive, i saw a sight very small, and it listed as 449$ and I was so shocked, I have seen some handguns cost lower, most of them were between 200-600$, the 2 Glocks I checked were 450$ and 299$.
I asked the sales guy, if they have any Guns from POF, he didn't know what that is so nvm.
oh i didn't know that, i mean it was a wild ask anyway, they have a lot of various guns on offer, but now that you mentioned I didn't see any Mp5's or similar guns? Maybe because they are automatic guns? idk.POF doesn't export original designs (thank god) but I hear POF made MP5s are somewhat popular out there

Yeah, I mean look everywhere what technological advancements have been made or new weapon operating system have been invented. Everyone is improving on existing design. AKM and AK-12 are same shit with improved ergonomics. So in your pov does staying with RDB system ok with Pakistan Army and nothing to worry about in terms of tech advancement?
Only with people who can't afford a MP-5.POF doesn't export original designs (thank god) but I hear POF made MP5s are somewhat popular out there
It dawned on me a few years ago that there is another POF in the United States i.e., Patriot Ordnance Factories. A lot of times their guns are inaccurately understood to be from PakOF.Went to Dave & Busters arcade today, and next to it was store for all kinds of outdoor stuff, including boats, fishing, hunting etc.

Funny you mention that. I happened to know as well as worked with one of the founders of Patriot Ordnance Factory. He was still an engineer at the time at Motorola; that how I knew him. Brilliant engineer. He was the "brains" behind POF. When he died, the company frankly went to crap.It dawned on me a few years ago that there is another POF in the United States i.e., Patriot Ordnance Factories. I did my fair share of gun shooting both in Pakistan and the US. I had the benefit of army ranges in Pakistan, and was fortunate enough to have a few "gun-mad" friends in Amreeka. Good times, always at the ranges.
I did tell him that POF is a Pakistani company that makes fire-arms but he never heard of it, but i wasn't surprised. People are crazy about the guns here, from old to young (21+) they love their guns, Also I was told at the store in Florida I can buy a pistol/Glock right now if i have my Florida license with me and I pass the background check, which i would've and i was that's it? I still am not sure about guns, maybe if i ever fire one in real life maybe then i will change my mind? I doubt it but that's what people tell me.It dawned on me a few years ago that there is another POF in the United States i.e., Patriot Ordnance Factories. What you pick will vary from each person you ask. The good thing is that there is fairly decent hardware available even at low prices because most shooters will never shoot their guns enough to see a perceptible difference in the performance of their possession so low end does not mean a bad firearm.
Even in the military, the rifles, hand-guns etc. are regulated very closely in most garden-infantry units and not fired extensively. This is how they make these weapons last for many decades. I remember watching jawans complete their G-3 proficiency training with 5-7 rounds. That is actually a decent amount and enough if sufficient coaching is provided for basic competency after dry firing, simulator use. Most militaries and their cadres are not in the business of firing entire magazines - except Special Forces, CT units, snipers etc. are different because they need to always be proficient on their firearms so they expend a lot of ammunition....by my own estimation, a counter terrorism unit like the Zarrar ATD uses more ammunition than 4-5 infantry regiments' (and possibly even more) expenditure of small arms ammunition during the entire year.
If I am not mistaken, you need the local county, police department to issue you a hand-gun permit (which runs the background check) and then you can go to a gun store and buy/order a hand-gun. As far as I know, they have laws prohibiting purchase of a hand-gun from the store without the permit. The only exception is if you happen to have a concealed handgun license (which a cousin had) and it allowed him to purchase as many handguns as he wanted without requiring permits.I did tell him that POF is a Pakistani company that makes fire-arms but he never heard of it, but i wasn't surprised. But one thing for sure, I am not spending 2000$ on a AR type rifle, yes they look super cool and you hold it and it feel awesome but still i don't need it, its not my thing nor i have money for it lol the most i will ever consider (If ever) will be a Pistol that's it.
The store i was is called Bass Pro Shops, they have a bunch of stuff, but this was first time i ever see that store.
Not true in all states. If I am not mistaken, you need the local county, police department to issue you a hand-gun permit (which runs the background check) and then you can go to a gun store and buy/order a hand-gun. Rifles have no such stipulation as far as I can recall. Others may know more/better.
Bass Pro has super high markup. If you are truly considering a firearm purchase, look for a local gunshop. Ask your coworkers who have guns for recommendations. The store i was is called Bass Pro Shops, they have a bunch of stuff, but this was first time i ever see that store.
Not really, definitely will be broke for couple of months after spending 2500$ on Camera/Lenses, but yeah I wasn't going to buy a firearm from that store, my friend ex-marine who went there to check up some rifles told me same thing, their prices are higher than other shops he visited.Bass Pro has super high markup. Idk for sure, but i asked the sales guy, he said i can buy this handgun if i want right now as long as i have valid ID, and pass background check. Also he told me that Rifles such as AR needs more, i didn't specifically ask what is required. Florida is open-carry state, so gun laws here in Florida is some of the relaxed ones in the whole of USA. I wasn't surprised when he told me i can get the handgun, because when you walk around malls or various shopping areas, or touristy places you can see people with side-arm all the time.If I am not mistaken, you need the local county, police department to issue you a hand-gun permit (which runs the background check) and then you can go to a gun store and buy/order a hand-gun.
