That's not how they think... they're zealots... messianic! If they think the ship is on fire everything should start burning around them as a shot in the arm and a last hurrah. They're headed for a collective suicide for the anointed one! Or anoint someone... and they're not alone a far greater number in the US feels and acts the same way to force the hand of God. The rest is just prep for the anointed... a stacked table and a system to rule the world.

So, either it withers away and collapses or they take all along. There are no back ups. This isn't their first attempt either...
And they feel it is time.

Nuking up, MIRVed ICBMs, strategic defence pacts with Russia, China, LEO constellations of our own are the answer to deter US/Israel/PGCC. There is no defense against hyperpower led alliances. Saddam tried defending. IRI would have collapsed in a week if IRGC focused on defending instead of pounding back in return with whatever they have.

OK ... so what happens if 1200 JASSM, Golden Horizons and Sparrow ALBMs, Tomahawks etc are fired in one go at 15-16 IRIAF bases hosting these hypothetical fleet? How many do you see surviving and they will do what in the war ?

Yes, longer it goes, PGCC enters the war officially etc better the outcome will be for Iran in longer terms. Worst will be a ceasefire right now because US, Israelis will regroup, replenish and come back against from arabi soil.
