US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

Look at the resume of some of the people given the sack. What a waste of human capital.

Each a leader and a seasoned expert... Disaster.

the Chief Chaplain?

The chief of chaplains of the United States Army (CCH) is the chief supervising officer of the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps. (Chaplains do not hold commanding authority

The United States Army Chaplain Corps (USACC) consists of ordained clergy of multiple faiths who are commissioned Army officers serving as military chaplains as well as enlisted soldiers who serve as assistants. Their purpose is to offer religious church services, counseling, and moral support to the armed forces, whether in peacetime or at war.

"Galactica 1980" was very sadly a complete joke for the most part ☹️

Oh yes that was a sad ting to a great legacy. Mind you the ' The night the Cylons landed' episode was a gem and rarity among that run. That also showed the first 'human Cylons', which were later expanded greatly upon for the Galactica reboot.

@RescueRanger

Not just one, but three in total. A shift in ideology is underway.

Hegseth told US Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George to retire immediately, a Pentagon official told CNN. He also fired two other Army generals Thursday, a US official said — the chief of chaplains, Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., and the commander of Army Transformation and Training Command, Gen. David Hodne.

He literally is this;

"The fact that these B-52s are now flying over Iran is clear evidence that we have air superiority — and even air dominance over parts of Iran," Gunzinger said.
Gunzinger said that level of control allows U.S. forces to operate more freely over Iran, including remaining over the battlefield and striking targets as they emerge rather than relying solely on pre-planned, long-range attacks.
While U.S. officials have emphasized growing control of the skies, air superiority does not eliminate all threats. Iran still retains missile and drone capabilities, and has relied on asymmetric tactics throughout the conflict to continue attacks despite losses to its air defenses.
Early in the campaign, B-52s fired long-range cruise missiles from outside Iranian airspace. More recently, bombers operating from U.S.-operated UK base Royal Air Force Fairford have been seen carrying precision-guided bombs — a shift that reflects growing U.S. control of the skies and the move toward closer-range strikes.
"B-52s flying in Iran’s airspace shows America’s complete air dominance — and guaranteed, there are also F-22s and F-35s at high altitude on overwatch," Rebecca Grant, a military analyst, told Fox News Digital. "They bring the big bomb payload for direct attacks on Iran’s drone and missile factories, plus underground targets."
The latest development signals the U.S. has moved beyond the initial phase of degrading Iran’s air defenses and is now able to operate more freely inside the country’s airspace, allowing for sustained, higher-volume strikes as the campaign enters a potentially more intense phase.
The expanded freedom of action could become more important as the campaign enters what Trump has described as its final phase, with U.S. officials signaling that strikes could intensify in the coming weeks.
"If you really want to devastate Iran’s ability to continue to launch missiles and drones, you would want to use bombers to do that," Gunzinger said.

The blunder wasn't that big; the issue is not in how the US attacked and how Iran reacted.

Setting aside whether Iran should be attacked, if they were going to, you can't just go and literally send missiles over. You need preparation, and this is what the US F up pretty badly.

If this war were done properly and competently, you know you would need to deal with Hormuz at some point, and you need to be ready for it. Have an alternative wartime insurance to go with at least on the day you attack, and have the ship sign up for them before their own insurance is void. The US only offered that on the 14th.Way too late

Another issue is escort, you can't escort a ship with a Destroyer only, you need a balanced ASS (Air, Surface, Subsurface) capability. which means you are going to need both Frigate and Corvette, and the US doesn't have any. If the US and IDF started deploying their Navy ship in Hormuz, maybe that's enough to have them floating, since you have a good combo of Destroyer, Corvette, and LCS (Probably not but it can still do something), or if they consulted with NATO or Europe and mass a Floatilla before they went in, it might work in conjunction with the Insurance the US offer. But they did none of that before the first missile fall, what the Trump admin did literally is attack first and hope for the best, fingers crossed.......that is what's wrong with this war.

Any thoughts? On how can Trump have a plan to exit the war when he did not even a plan to enter the war 😢
