Do you realize the earth is curved? A plane flying below a radar’s azimuth means it stays undetected. It’s not magic, it’s how radar waves work, they are blasted upwards from their source. Mountains block radar waves (assuming Iran has any)

So yes it wouldn’t be too hard for helicopters to fly 50-100KM inside Iran low and thru remote regions to find the pilots. Ukraine does this all the time.



Manpads have a range of a few KM. Again you think IRGC are sitting in mountains just hoping a plane flies above them in a country the size of most of Europe.



Bases were evacuated weeks ago. And it wouldn’t be Artesh mission. It would be spec ops team rapid deployment teams that would take the call.

Reza_mad claimed 2 hours before any news came out that the one pilot was rescued, that the pilot was rescued and another captured by Iran.

So let’s see if he’s right:

Targeting of an American A10 S aircraft in Khuzestan.

Another one .. mentioned as "targeted", probably like the Blackhawk Helicopter that was targeted today (but managed to escape after damage), otherwise they would have clearly announced that it was downed or destroyed.

An F15, A Blackhawk, an F16 and now an A10, all in a span of 24 hours. Good to see that a lot of US jets and planes are coming under attack, including one destroyd, since yesterday. An excellent improvement in the AD performance of Iran.

Good to see that a lot of US jets and planes are coming under attack since yesterday. A nice improvement in the AD performances, at least in terms of targeting.

Would be nearly impossible for Iran to down a A-10 using a manpad or 358. Those things are basically flying tanks and can take direct hits. Iran would need a decent size AD missile to knock it out of the sky.

you need some tribal warlords to have manpads sitting and waiting or an AA team that survived the intial sweep.

willing to sit there for the entire conflict fully fed, clothed and looked after in the wildreness in hundreds , supported by twice or three times support people to run the supplies and ensure all the required weapons are working, food, fuel, medicines, medical cover, leave of absence and highly motivated in the harsh enviroment.,

not to mention, be prepared for air assault from a super power enjoying air superiority bringing all the air assets because its ego has been bruised.

but hey, why should an armchair commander and commentator sould bother to think all this.
