Out of interest is the YiHa 3, what we are using as our version of the Shaheed drone, any views on how it stacks up to the Shaheed and whether we need a alternative

Below is the list of Iranian drones with ranges, do we have similar one way strike drones with similar ranges?

The YiHa3 seems to be 200km range



How far can a Shahed drone fly?




Shahed-136, have an estimated operational range between 1,000 km and 2,500 km (approx. 600–1,500 miles), with many estimates citing 2,000 km as standard. These low-cost, one-way attack drones can fly at speeds around 185 km/h (115 mph).

Shahed-136/Geran-2: Range of 1,500–2,500 km.

Shahed-131: A smaller variant with a range of at least 700–900 km.


Shahed-149 Gaza: A larger, more advanced UCAV with a range claimed up to 4,000 km or 7,000 km, according to some reports.


Operational Use: Their long range enables them to strike far from their launch sites, with reports suggesting they can threaten targets across Europe when launched from Russia

You might as well mail your enemy the bomb rather than sending it via a Yiha 3.

We might as well keep it simple and strike a deal with Iran to get tot and just make it enmass ourselves

Long range low cost strike drones seem the way to go in future and we seem to be behind the curve even with multiple warnings from the conflicts of the world


In a war I don't see how we are expecting to sustain a conflict, unless we want to fight for two weeks and then go nuclear

Assuming they do end up getting inducted, the engine should be replaced with a micro turbo jet like Iran did in the newer Shahed variant.

How much will Pakistan need to spend for 500,000 drones costing $50,000 each?

One thing for sure that after Iran-US/Israel war, the value of the kamikaze drones and loitering munition will go up, and every regional power will be ramping up the production. Even in the next Pak-Ind conflict we will see India will use initial attack by launching ALCM, from stand-off distances followed by Brahmos and massive drone attacks. We need to bring our own version of both kamikaze and better long range LM. From what I read on here YiHa performance is questionable at best. We should also look into a new System Chinese tested called Atlas, that thing can do wonders for Pakistan in a major conflict with India.
