It now being claimed that the attack that killed the most U.S. soldiers in the war was actually an aerial attack in the opening days of the war by SU-24

Iran’s old Airforce jets did what over a thousand of missiles couldn’t do. Should be a wake up call to IRGC about disregarding air power.

You really got to be really "special" if you think the IRIAF could operate against the USAF and IAF for 40 days straight!

Air Force mountain bases + an actual effort to build an integrated air defense network and not just a small amount of S-300 and some stand alone systems would have made the Air Force a longer threat than the first 24-48 hours it was.

This war showed relying just on ballistic missiles and some $20K drones is not enough firepower to respond to the enemy when they escalate. Iran needs a complimentary attack vector.

For that Iran would need a serious Defence budget.

@Kyussis

it's strange the air force never said anything about the pilots. where are they? who are they?

Iran’s Underground Air Force Base Was Hit Earlier in the War

Satellite imagery shows impact craters at and near the tunnel entrances to aircraft shelters at Iran’s remote “Eagle 44” base.
