Pakistan talking about delays is funny when you look at their own history with the J-10. Pakistan started trying to get the J-10 back in the mid-2000s during the era of Pervez Musharraf. China offered them the Chengdu J‑10 and around 2009 there were reports Pakistan planned to buy 36 jets. But after all that hype, the deal didn’t happen for years. It kept getting delayed for more than a decade because of funding problems. Then after India inducted the Dassault Rafale, Pakistan finally confirmed buying of 20 J-10C fighters in 2021-22. That’s basically one squadron. So, when someone talks about 20 years of barking, it actually describes Pakistan’s J-10 story perfectly

IAF lobotomized Pakistan’s entire air defence. IAF hit PAF right in the neural core and left your most sensitive base brain dead. Mobile C4I units NG-MMCCs, uplink trucks, live radar controllers, C4i centers all blown to hell mid ops like sitting ducks. IAF yanked the whole PAF system’s spine out while it was still twitching. Pakistan’s air defence was brain dead, twitching in a pool of its own latency.

Yup, my guess is French do not give two hoots either, point blank refused source codes or any inetgration, moving on to their 6th Gen, think they will name a price, ask India to leave it or take it, India will start trying to negotiate, French will move on.

EXACTLY the same thing that happened when France offered to give India Mirage 2000 line 25 years ago. India tried to haggle, France moved on to Rafale.

There are two types of source codes.
First is the core aircraft source code: flight controls, radar algorithms, EW systems and other sensitive software. No country gives that away, not France, not the US, nobody. Second is the interface or integration layer. This is what allows a country to add its own weapons and sensors to the aircraft. To integrate Indian weapons on the Dassault Rafale, India only needs the interface data so weapons like Astra or BrahMos-NG can communicate with the jet’s mission computer and targeting system. That does not require access to the core source code. So maybe understand the basics before calling others clowns. Right now you’re the clown here. And people flying a small batch of J-10C should probably avoid lecturing others about advanced aerospace technology.
