Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

Yes, I think with the manpower we have and massive additional funding we can, to a certain extent, replace the US military presence in Saudi and Qatar
More than Manpower I think we need to invest in Air force, we saw the Air force importance in every modern combat, even Israel's navy is joke, and their ground forces only ever fought insurgents and not a proper trained army with tanks and etc. We should have 1-2 sqs in KSA, 1 in Qatar and so on, I know its wishful and some people will laugh or make fun but truth is, Pakistan's position with 200+ nukes and a security provider is not on the top, we push Indians back in 2019 and 2025, and we are not even soft on Israel despite their scary attempts to subdue Muslims, I mean our Def Minister call them a cancerous state when USA is coming to Pakistan lol
I am sure KSA is seeing all that and now thinking that maybe we should bring Pakistan, and make better ties with Iran, can create joint ventures. I mean Iranian drones and missiles has proven its worth for sure, and Iran economy lift off their military might will be amazing, so rather than feel intimated by them lets bring KSA/Iran on table and create join defense PACT's.

Air power is what Pakistan needs to invest in more, but the problem is that it is the Army that makes the decisions and has all the purse strings under its control. PAF logically needs to grow larger both for the relevance of it in wars to come and the Saudi pact. Will the Army see common sense, and see we need fewer tanks in the future, and more fighter jets?

Yes, I think its about time we start working towards a strong position throughout middle East, America or Israel they may have financial stakes in middle east but for us its much much more than that, Mecca/Medina is there for God sake, we can't have or Trust Israel Air force flying over KSA freely specially give how crazy these Israeli lunatics are. PAF should not only take command of a small/Medium size base in KSA but also once we have enough resources and I hope we do, we should also put similar package in Qatar and Kuwait, or at least try to get there. With KSA's help, Qatar and Kuwait they are richie rich so money won't be a issue as long as they know that there is a military force station in their countries which won't let any certain country's fighter bomb them in broad daylight like Israel did in Doha.

i like what you saying but we have to wait for this stupid war to be over before proceeding on that. Otherwise who knows what can happen
Right now PAF is there in Saudi for Hajj prep, to guard against israeli/indian misadventures.

But it sure is time for Egypt, Pakistan, Turkiye, KSA to come together against israel.
America can no longer provide anything in ME as it has recently demonstrated clearly whose side they're on.

But its equally essential the arabs wake up from their slumber and realize that the shit is getting real and its getting bad and they need to set their priorities straight and get on with it.
We win when we're all United

AF has seen some significance improvement, so does the navy and hopefully Army does understand this, because between PAK-IND yes we need a large manpower but protecting KSA is a whole different ball game, we need AD systems, AF and modern fighter jets, we have competent pilots, probably the best in the region which can go against the Israel if it ever comes to but I don't expect them to pull a miracle from their JF-17's against F-35I's.

Also will these bases act as sort of "strategic depth" vis a vis India and provide another vector against IN (though constrained by range)?

Too far to be practical, on the other hand it could give the PN a location to disperse some of its ships

No. Saudis and other GCC members are commercially oriented countries and will not be sacrificing their trade relationship with India for the sake of Pakistan. This has been demonstrated multiple times in the past.

haven’t been through all pages, but is there any talks of Pakistan stopping US mercenaries from using Saudi land against attacks on Iran?? Are we going to do that to invoke the defense treaty lawfully incase iran still has to attack US bases?

Why is this a problem of tanks v planes? Pakistan needs those tanks potentially more than planes. Talking about need for money to garuntee saudia as well as Pakistan then ask saudis to pay for their defence that we will happily provide

MPAs could still operate from there and be much safer than in Pakistan

Why does it? Have you seen what FPV's are doing to tanks right now ? Just look at Ukraine, and even South Lebanon right now.

Lmao. Ill ask you one thing after 4 years of conflict in ukraine where both sides are losing thousands of tanks why are they still desperate for more? Why is ukraine begging for anything that moves and shoots and why does russia spend billions ramping up production and reactivating old stocks
