Why is this a problem of tanks v planes? Pakistan needs those tanks potentially more than planes. Talking about need for money to garuntee saudia as well as Pakistan then ask saudis to pay for their defence that we will happily provide

I think Saudis will pay....and Pakistan will fast track procurement of next level tech.....J-35/HQ19 and KJ500 combo.

Same would be made available for defense of the Saudis.

Remember how Ishaq Dar went to China to get their say and buy in and next we knew Iran and US are talking in Pakistan.

China will have no issues. Saudis can construct and man an air base separate from the American equipment/manpower. The short distance between Saudi and Pakistan makes easy to shuttle the assets back and forth.

Many airforces were shocked and impressed how PAF took out the IAF on May 7th.....it was no joke. Indians were left looking like idiots and clowns.

Qataris have been recently warming up to Pakistan.

While the rabid emiratis have been making it difficult for Pakistanis to get visas for employment and visit, Qatar made it easy.

Recently their state owned Power and Petrochemical companies did recruiting rounds in Pakistan. They were supposed to go to India as well but did not.

I had a job offer from one of them so i can tell the details.. So basically, companies like Qatar Energy, Qatar Power, Qatar Electric and Water, Qatar LNG etc. they hire recruitment agencies in Pakistan and India to set up recruiting roadshows at top hotels where people from the aforementioned companies come and interview/select the candidates. They ask these recruiters to scour the CVs of the relevant experienced people in Pakistan. (we have a lot of skilled manpower, like industrial engineers and process engineers and HSE professionals). They target bluechip companies like Engro, FFC, Fatima, Hubco etc.

Anyway, so basically I was late in applying to the recruitment of Pakistani recruitment agency, so instead someone gave me contact of Indian one. So i was called for interview and Recruitment modalities through an Indian company......lol.......because they said this year Qataris will not be travelling or hiring from India.....and Indian agencies are also coordinating hiring of Pakistani candidates.

Realistically speaking what can we possibly get from the Saudis in return other than few $$s? I don't think Pakistan thought this pact through properly. It doesn't benefit us as much as it benefits the Saudis. Cheap blood for them to expend, but they most certainly wont be turning up to fight our wars.
Once again our leaders have let us down.

It's not about $$$, it's about keeping the oil flowing .. GCC account for 80 percent of our energy imports, without it we will simply collapse. We can fight Indian for years , Afghanistan for decades, without oil we won't last 3 weeks . People over here are overthinking it .. it's really a no brainer

That's a lot of assets removed from our theatre.

Iran isn't attacking on KSA, attacking on US bases. US should protect KSA bases and itself. Pakistani defence pact isn’t for this.

IRGC has attacked multiple Saudi oil facilities, even in the western coast near Jeddah. King sultan airbase is owned and used by the Saudis but it was hosting USAF AWACS and refuellers.

Saudi Arabia must not want those F-35s anymore. Pakistan uses the Chinese HQ-9 air missile defense. If US was unwilling to sell Turkey the F-35s because they wanted to train their Russian S-400s on it, then it follows Americans would do the same here. US will have security concerns that China can put in software backdoors on their military equipment to monitor how to break stealth capabilities just like Russians tried by selling S-400 to Turkey. .

HQ-9 probably. Not HQ-19. In either case, there needs to be a network of radars for early warning and interception. This cannot be operationalised overnight, unless the KSA has already acquired and networked the Chinese radar systems.
