Looking at NY Times topmost news, almost impossible to believe the Islamabad Talks failed because of Iran's HEU stockpile, because of the Strait of Hormuz status, and because of the frozen Iranian assets. All those three points were not even major factors in the so-called negotiations just before this conflict started on 28 Feb. The major issues then were, as should be now, the range and the lethality of the Iranian Ballistic missiles.
I call it BS the reasons given for the failure of the Talks!! And I even suspect the Talks really failed!

Now that the talks have failed, we should not allow the US to choose when to resume the war.

You're kidding, right? Iran's uranium enrichment has been the one and only issue for Iran-US negotiations since 2013, including the last 2 rounds with Witkoff.

It was clear as day that these negotiations will fail. I didn't have even 0.001% of doubt about it.

China isn’t doing anything it didn’t do before this war. It’s buying oil, but even that is no longer as critical as there are many buyers for Iranian oil now.

And it’s supplying intel, which is already part of the the relationship. If anything, China is disengaged from this conflict.




The problem with advance weaponary is there is a lag until it’s operational especially for a country that doesn’t have the training with that weaponary. We saw this Ukraine where it took soldiers 2-4 months to get trained on NATO equipment before it was deployable.



Assad had two russian airbases and a naval port in Syria. What difference did it make?

A military base can be evacuated. The only guarantee worth anything is a mutual defense clause.

China does not need to sell military supplies. China only needs to selectively control titanium alloys, special steel, rare earth elements, carbon fiber materials, ceramic matrix composites, aluminum powder, magnesium powder, drone parts, and so on in Israel and Iran. That's enough. These are not military supplies, but they can all affect war.
