US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

Trump's 6 Red Lines

Fox News reports that Vice President Vance’s final offer delivered to the Iranian delegation in Islamabad includes the following "red lines."

  1. End all uranium enrichment
  2. Dismantle all major nuclear enrichment facilities
  3. Retrieve highly enriched uranium
  4. Accept a broader peace, security and de-escalation framework that includes regional allies
  5. End funding for terrorist proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis
  6. Fully open the Strait of Hormuz, charging no tolls for passage
Needless to say, Iran refused to agree.

President Trump Begins Blockading Strait Of Hormuz

President Trump said the US would blockade the Strait of Hormuz following the collapse of peace talks with Iran in Islamabad this weekend.

“Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump said in a social media post.
In a pair of lengthy social media posts, Trump first explained the situation in the Strait...

how much is it going to cost the US to chase down and interdict every ship leaving an Iranian port? Will it be less than 139m$ a day that Iran will lose? How can we be sure Iran isn't going to use asymmetric tactics like the Houthis and load remotely detonated explosives on cargo vessels? You make it sound easy, What do we do with the cargo from these vessels? Are we going to sell it?

How much it will cost the US is irrelevant. It’s a combined $435M in economic damage per day for Iran. Iran is looking at economic collapse. Never said it would be easy, but the US successfully interdicted Venezuelan vessels. It will do so again, and with more assets on hand.

LOL, right.

Stop believing everything you read in a PowerPoint presentation or posted on X. Everyone predicted Russia's demise via sanctions. They are still going strong and still fighting in Ukraine.

He’s a former Treasury OFAC executive.

An Russia never faced a naval blockade on 90%+ of exports/imports. Dumb comparison

Tens of millions of Americans, living paycheck to paycheck, have $75 less to spend each month due to the rise in gasoline prices just in the past month.

Each additional $1 increase in gasoline prices will add an additional $75 each month in expenses.

(Assuming four gallons a day usage, common in "bedroom" communities.)

#3. Economic Recession and Reduced Investment

GCC countries are facing economic meltdowns, with severe hits to tourism and business confidence thanks to the ongoing conflict. Gulf nations now have to contend with slowed economic growth or recession risks, with Kuwait and Qatar potentially facing up to 14% contractions in GDP due to blocked oil exports and infrastructure attacks. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are expected to see smaller but still significant GDP drops of approximately 5% and 3%, respectively, as they can partially reroute some oil flows. Regional stock exchanges have tumbled, with Dubai's market experiencing a 15% drop and markets in Abu Dhabi and Qatar falling by 5% to 10%. Meanwhile, the cost of insuring against default (credit default swap spreads) has risen sharply for Bahrain and Dubai.

The regional travel and tourism industry is losing an estimated €515 million ($600 million) per day, with total visitor spending losses for the region projected to reach between $34 billion and $56 billion in the current year. Overall, the conflict is projected to cost GCC nations nearly $200 billion in lost economic output due to contracting growth, reduced oil exports and sector disruptions, with regional oil revenue losses estimated at $1.1 billion per day.

Vice President of the United States in 2024, J.D. Vance:

"When people like Kamala Harris send our sons and daughters, our young people, to fight stupid wars, it is the younger generation that bears the brunt. We will stop sending our young people to faraway places. We are not the police of the world."

I know an island nation that is very relived US attention will be back on Iran for a while. If a ceasefire agreement would have been reached they'd be sweating right now.

Trump has 'gone for the jugular' to cut off Iran’s revenue stream, says Pompeo

President Donald Trump’s strategy in Iran has weakened the regime, leaving it in a precarious position while deterring further aggression, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Sunday.
Joining “The Big Weekend Show” for tonight’s “Big Close-Up,” Pompeo said Iran has already seen resources depleted during Operation Epic Fury and now finds itself in a “politically difficult spot.”
He also argued the administration’s approach is cutting off critical revenue streams and forcing Tehran to make decisions following the breakdown of talks in Islamabad.
“President Trump has essentially gone for the jugular. He will cut off essentially all revenue that has been flowing into the Iranian regime,” Pompeo said.
He also said the Iranians would now have to decide what to do following the talks before warning Trump will “unleash even more fury” which would only put them in a “lesser position.”
“I think President Trump has done a very smart thing,” he told Joey Jones commenting on the planned U.S. Strait of Hormuz blockade.
“This will put not only the Iranians, but the Chinese in a very difficult spot, where now they will have to buy market-based, market-priced oil or convince the Iranians to stand down and allow the strait to be reopened,” Pompeo said.

But I am reading on the interwebs every day that Cubans desperately want America to bomb their country and liberate them! Just like the Iranians and Venezuelans and Iraqis etc. Even the Mexicans.

Was there every any indication the ‘US’ delegation led by Israeli assets Kushner and Witkoff would demand anything less than total unilateral surrender by Iran? There was not. These barbarians only understand force.”
