❗️Moments ago, Israel struck a small vehicle on the Beirut–South highway in the Saadiyat area that belonged to the Jordanian-based NGO “Generations for Peace” Association (GFP) and was carrying humanitarian aid—including milk, diapers, and food—destined for civilians in southern Lebanon.

Return to Islamabad

Trump, speaking to the New York Post on Tuesday, said his negotiators are likely to be back, thanks largely to the "great job" Pakistan's army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, was doing to moderate the talks.

Later on Tuesday, at an event in Georgia, US Vice President JD Vance said Trump wanted to make a "grand bargain" with Iran, but there was a lot of mistrust between the two countries.

"You are not going to solve that problem overnight," he said.

To me, this war confirms Iran is the uncontested leader of the muslim world.

No question about that. Turkey and saudi Arabia betrayed their potential and position to lead the Muslim world, which left only 🇮🇷 qualified to take the leadership mantle.

The United Arab Emirates Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed discussed in a phone call with Iran's parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf de-escalation efforts in the Iran war, UAE state news agency WAM reported on Wednesday.

The rare phone call between the two countries comes against the backdrop of the UAE having condemned Iran's attacks on Gulf states, describing them as terrorist acts, while also calling for the unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, the United States said on Wednesday its military had completely halted trade going in and out of Iran by sea, even though Trump said talks with Tehran on ending the war could resume this week.

Survival: Iran's nuclear positions are unchangeable

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
🔹 The positions presented by the United States regarding Iran's proposals are unreasonable and far from reality.

🔹The Islamic Republic of Iran, while rejecting the other party's approach, immediately expressed its corrective opinions.

🔹 These cases are mainly based on nuclear issues, and America has already been fully familiar with Iran's principled and unchanging positions in these areas.

Iran says it's continuing to exchange messages with US - foreign ministry

Esmaeil Baghaei, Spokesperson of Foreign Ministry seen during his weekly press conference

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei says the exchange of messages between Tehran and Washington is “continuing” with a Pakistani intermediary after talks failed on Sunday.

Baghaei said Iran’s position had been “clearly set out and repeated in subsequent contacts”.

He added Iran is “most likely” to host a delegation from Pakistan today in a continuation of talks previously held in Islamabad that will include “detailed talks on the positions” of Iran and the US.

Baghaei rejected American claims about Iran pursuing nuclear weapons and insisted that Iran’s nuclear programme is “peaceful”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Baghaei said Iran "must be able to continue enrichment [of uranium] based on its needs" but "there is a possibility of dialogue about the type and level of enrichment".

The third round of nuclear negotiations over Iran’s long-debated nuclear programme happened between Iran and the US on 26 February, two days before the war started.

Iran threatens shipping in Gulf, Red Sea, and Gulf of Oman if US naval blockade continues

Ghoncheh Habibiazad
Senior reporter, BBC Persian

Ali Abdollahi - the commander for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the country’s highest operational command co-ordinating the armed forces - says that if the US continues its blockade and creates "insecurity for Iran’s commercial vessels and oil tankers", it will "constitute a prelude to a violation of the ceasefire".

Abdollahi adds that Iran’s armed forces would consequently not allow "any exports or imports to continue in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, and the Red Sea".

He did not specify which countries' exports and imports could be affected, although the bodies of water he mentions cover a vast area.

The US blockade of Iranian ports began on Monday. On Wednesday, the US military said "no ships made it past the blockade" in the first 24 hours, with six merchant vessels forced to turn around in the Gulf of Oman.

The US-Iran ceasefire, referenced by Abdollahi, was announced on 8 April after nearly six weeks of conflict between Iran and the US and Israel.

The first round of negotiations between Iran and the US failed - although Donald Trump says US-Iran talks could restart in the next two days. Iran is yet to confirm.

Continuation of Iran's shipping activity in the south despite the threat of blockade

🔹According to the information received from some informed sources in the field of shipping and ports in the south of the country, despite the claim of the US regarding the maritime blockade of Iranian ports, the country's maritime transportation process continues normally and without interruption.

🔹In the past 24 hours, Iranian commercial ships have moved to different destinations in different parts of the world according to plans, and export and import operations are ongoing through the country's ports.

Yet Iran is not building the bomb. More troops are being deployed to the region meanwhile no one really knows what iran is doing during these two weeks. land routes in Iran cannot fully offset the sea route trade passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

I think we all know that Iran is unable to protect even its top leadership from assassination and you are talking about the nukes? The time for the nukes is long past: Either you build them or you don't. Pakistan and North Korea did that without hesitation and with single minded focus.
And, again, the Strait's blockade will not have much affect on Iran for many weeks/months; by the time the Iranians would feel the real pain, the world would have felt intolerable pain. The blockade is Trump being Trump.

He's being deceitful again. They will not stop until Iran fully capitulates. I don't think Pakistan understands that they don't want peace or a partial agreement, they want all of their points to be met. The last 25 years of their behavior provides ample clarity of what they are seeking. I'm for peace, but the man in the WH is a deceitful scum with long history of dishonesty and broken deals. A very disgusting and shady individuals who has his fingertips on the pinnacle of American Power.

When this war continues and Iran attacks the Red Sea oil pipelines, this will trigger the Saudi-Pakistan defense treaty and Pakistan will have to respond because they signed the defense deal. I don't see this turning out in any other way. Pakistan should not have gotten involved, but the "elites" running the country have their own personal interests at stake as well.

On a SN: I spend time with a Greek friend of mine in Hamburg and his dad was all praises for Shabaz Sharif. My friends dad says to me that SS is a well spoken smart man.

1. Regrettably, due to existing agreements between China and Russia, China's "Flanker" series fighter jets (J-11/15/16) are not available for export. The fighter aircraft that China is currently authorized to sell include the J-10, J-35, and JH-7 series.

2. As of now, normal trade relations between China and Iran remain ongoing and have not been impacted by the conflict.

3. According to the latest intelligence, the conflict between the U.S./Israel and Iran has not had a significant impact on China's energy security. Consequently, there is currently no need for us to deploy the PLA to intervene.
In 2025, China's average daily oil imports stood at 11.55 million barrels.
In March 2026, China's average daily oil imports reached 11.77 million barrels (based on official Chinese data).
According to unofficial sources, the current average daily oil import volume for this month (April) is approximately 12 million barrels.
So, point 3 means that in april, just in april China imported 12 millions oíl barrels and point 2 says that Islamic Republic has a regular trade with China. That means that Iranian oil is flowing without restrictions to China 🤔. Got It. Thanks for your insight.
