DeepSeek, China's AI model: News & Discussion

Cope and word salad. US technology hegemony reigns supreme. First to Covid mRNA vaccine, first to GLP-1s with Eli Lilly now dominating the market, first to ChatGPT, AI hardware dominance, first to fracking, first to EVs, first to fusion ignition, first to quantum advantage, first to reusable rockets, first to Internet satellite constellations etc

China has revolutionized almost no industry. It tried with 5G, and that turned out to be a huge disappointment. Fact remains, China is a fast follower in almost every technology that matters. That’s been a consistent theme for years.
That post is full of cope.

No word salad, just the reality of the inflection point between the fall of the USA and the rise of China.

The silliest thing I have read on this forum and there have been some real clangers. Congratulations on that.

The truth hurts and you have no rebuttal other than word salad. US technological hegemony reigns supreme

History is littered with the rise and fall of empires, and as one empire falls, another will always take its place.

The era of the USA is over and this war is the final death throws of an empire that is more interested in spending its money on guns and bombs and not hospitals or schools. Any empire that place value on its people has been shown to be an empire that has a very short shelf life.

I appreciate, the concepts may be too intellectual for you to grasp, but that really is your personal failing and that of your government in not being able to provide you with a good education to any appreciable level. Your government has vested its treasure instead on indoctrinating you on more guns and bombs, wars is what you need and not education and free healthcare.

Not in this reality, or any other reality in any universe.
As someone posted in this thread China doesn't need to match the latest AI models right now, their focus is to create a large user adoption, mature the tech and hardware stack. This Deepseek release used Huawei chips and CANN software, they are moving away from NVIDIA CUDA.

Arguably CUDA is more valuable than any microchip nvida makes its the software ecosystem developers, ai scientists researchers are using. China is now pushing its own stack to mature and its big companies to adopt it. It's going to take time but when it takes off just like how China caught up in aerospace AI and advance computing will be conquered too.

More word salad

Important to note that Anthropic has not even released its Claude Mythos model publicly which we know is more advanced than its Opus 4.7 model and probably even GPT 5.5.

We know its cyber security capabilities are highly advanced and NSA already has access to it.

Jensen knows once Chinese companies have a viable alternative hardware, software stack his companies share price will take a big hit. American dominance in this field is already under challenge. China needs a few more years to sort the hardware out.

Since the US AI ecosystem has to maintain a near monopoly with a ripoff price in order to keep everything afloat.

Even their own propaganda channel is admitting it.

Once China has managed to break their monopoly, everything is becoming unsustainable and is going to collapse.

According to Johns Hopkins University. According to data provided by Hopkins University, the number of deaths from new crown pneumonia in the United States exceeded 1.01 million. China has more than 83,000 deaths, and at least 59 Chinese medical workers have sacrificed their lives in the fight against the epidemic.

The overall vaccination rate in the United States is 67.2%. The overall vaccination rate in China is close to 100%. The United States has provided vaccines to nearly 100 countries, often with political and diplomatic requirements. China has provided more than 2.2 billion doses of the new crown vaccine to more than 120 countries and organizations. The methods of assistance are: gratuitous aid, distribution through international organizations, technology transfer and co-production.

In terms of vaccination rates and mortality rates, vaccines in the United States need to remain skeptical.

The success of China's 5G technology requires a criterion. If profitability is taken as the criterion, investment in 5G technology will fail because the technology will not be profitable in the short term. If the standard is to improve people's living standards, 5G technology is successful, and it has indeed improved people's living standards. We are used to this long-term investment by the government, such as China's railways, which have been losing money for many years, mainly due to railway construction. Now that China Railway has built the world's largest railway network, China Railway has come out of the most difficult period of loss and has begun to make a profit.

This man often lies and creates the illusion of American technological leadership by belittling other countries.

In January 2026, Iran interfered with U.S. satellites during mass protests and Trump asked Musk to restore Iran's network connection through Starlink. The United States tried to forcibly establish a messaging method that was not controlled by Iran to support Iranian protesters. Iran arrested 39 people hired by the United States and Israel and seized communication tools, including Starlink equipment.

Iran uses the Beidou civilian module, and I see that Iran's targets against Israel are not affected. Why don't the United States and Israel interfere with the Beidou system?

In March 2026, Jack Kidari, CEO of SandboxAQ, an American company that cooperates with the U.S. military. Hidari publicly advertised that although Iran has gained a tactical advantage in using the Beidou, the United States and its allies will eventually crack the Beidou signal.

So, is the United States really ahead of technology???

So, is the United States really ahead of technology???

What does this tangent have to do with anything?

Maybe we should use the rural poor in China as some AI measurement?
As if that makes just as much sense?
