QUETTA: A police head constable was martyred in a terrorist attack on a checkpost in the Huramzai area of Balochistan’s Pishin district on Monday.

According to police, armed militants on a motorcycle opened fire on a police checkpost using automatic weapons, following which police personnel retaliated.

“The exchange of fire, which continued for some time, resulted in the martyrdom of a head constable,” a police official who wished to remain anonymous told Dawn, adding that the assailants then fled from the scene.

The official said that security forces rushed to the site of the incident and shifted the body to the district hospital, where the deceased was identified as Naimatullah.

He termed the incident a terrorist attack, saying a search operation had been launched in the area to trace those involved in the attack.

No one group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Last week, a policeman was martyred and four others were injured in attacks on two police stations by unidentified men in the Dhadar and Mal area of Balochistan’s Kachhi and Noshki districts.

QUETTA: Five labourers were injured in a grenade attack in the Dalbandin area of Chagai district late on Monday night, police said.

According to police officials, unidentified assailants on motorcycles threw a hand grenade at a house, which exploded in the backyard and injured five labourers.

“The injured individuals are from Punjab who were working on a daily wage,” police officials said.

Security forces rushed to the site shortly after the incident and shifted the injured to Prince Fahad Hospital.

Police added that the windowpanes of the affected house and nearby homes were also damaged.

An investigation has been launched, and no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

On Feb 16, two people were injured when unidentified individuals threw a hand grenade at a milk shop situated on Khuda-i-Dad Road in Quetta.

DIG Quetta confirmed rocket attacks across the city, stating that security forces along with the CTD have launched search operations in different areas.

Security has been placed on high alert, with strict monitoring at all entry and exit points.

still report it to the authorities
this is what i use to report these scums
i think , the flag is more of a flag of balochistan then more fo BLA aholes , you go through quite sum screening to be enlisted into the armed forces , could be the merchant navy guy idk .
Nice thing is to report them .

Given the Terrain around Quetta, and overall in Baluchistan its impossible to stop every attack like IED or ambush or random rocket attacks at random location, specially when these fighters can just launch from remote locations and run/hide among the locals.

At this point Quetta corp commander and IG balochistan police should be sacked with the sheer braziness the BLA and other Terror groups carry out attacks in the provincial capital speaks Volume about the overall competence of the above mentioned high ranking people if this type of thing happend in Peshawar entire nunni league and the **** brigade would be out and mocking KPK police and KP provincial government
but since balochistan government is run by the favourite bugti of the army all is well
expect more of these attacks escpecially in balochistan
AND FOR GOD SAKE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOW ALLOW PRIVATE COMPANIES TO KEEP THEIR OWN SECUIRTY IN HIGH RISK MINING AREAS LIKE DALBADIN CHAGAI ETC IF YOU CANT PROTECT IT LET THE PRIVATE SECTOR DO IT

It is pretty obvious the entirety of Balochistan is not really under Pakistan's control apart from certain pockets. The locals are not co-operative and instead provide full intel to the BLA and many likely live double lives.

In such a scenario, there's nothing you can do change their mind when they've chosen the goals of BLAs separatism.

The question is if Pakistan has what it takes to turn the situation around. Small scale IBOs won't fix this. These are not isolated militants but an entirely treatourous society. Examples exist across the world.

KPK police
no one has the right to call out kp police , the amount of martyrs they get daily is astounding ,real warriors
and yes there might be few informants but thats very rare
