Both videos appear to be plain-clothed forces shooting at the protestors, not the other way around.

Oh please. Prince Sultan airbase is from where ALL American air campaigns since the 1991 Persian Gulf war have been staged and directed, including this attack on Iran. If Saudis didnt want this war they could have denied their airspace and the use of Prince Sultan airbase. Entire GCC was on board with this war.

what you say sure makes sense if we look at what was going on. But it could also be a great Deception. Who knows if the Saudi's were actually helpless in all this since they dont/cant control the americans from listening to them....just like how they allowed Doha to be struck by Israel....

Yes but the bigger issue for Trump is how to get something better looking for him which would not involve dozens or even hundreds or even thousands of body bags coming home to America. That would destroy Trump and his supine Republican stooges in the Congress.
I think at this point, I don't rule out an offramp based on the ongoing diplomacy. The other options could be:
1) Two more weeks of intense attacks to further degrade Iran; that's Netanyahu's Minimal Viable Product (MVP), to use a business term.
2) A staged tit for tat like what happened at the end of the June 2025 conflict.

Both of them would allow Americans to declare 'victory' and leave but both would eventually be an Iranian 'victory' and the Israelis know that though the Israelis would take option #1 as best. But option #1 would risk significant American casualties and #2 is something Iranians might not agree with--though they should as long as the Americans leave!

If you understand American football, Trump is sitting on 2nd and 20. For all practical purpose he can’t wait to get to 3rd and 30.
There is an underlying belief on the right wing side that Iranians are a bunch of goat herders , and Chinese are paper tigers.
It was the idea of the right wing that US needs to put its foot down in Middle East. I literally heard Maria Bartiromo on Fox News that US needs to put its foot on China’s throat.
In any event there is a price to pay for hubris. I don’t see how he gets out of this box he put himself in.
It is incredible that Trump fired John Bolton in his first term for promoting war in ME !!

Seems like a short term strategy to placate Pakistan.

Otherwise there’s little justification for allowing Qatari gas imports while Pakistan remains unable or unwilling to purchase Iranian LNG and effectively enforcing sanctions on Iran even though Tehran completed its side of the pipeline up to the border years ago.

More "unable" than "unwilling." If it were not for geopolitical constraints, buying oil and gas from Iran is a straight forward option.
