Viet Nam has started to install the VCM missiles on the ancient Turya-class torpedo boat. It looks like we will spam every boat in our inventory with this missile.

From the geography China is #1 long term threat, from the actual geopolitic the US under MAGA nuts is now more dangerous. following the defeat of US army in Vietnam there is no military bases on indochinese mainland. The most closest is Singapore and Philippines, but they are not permanent US bases where they can launch an invasion.
What Vietnam likely needs is long range surveillance, ships and planes with long range strike capabilities.

HANOI, May 22 (Reuters) - The State of North Carolina has sued Vietnamese EV maker VinFast for its alleged failure to meet its commitments to build an electric vehicle and battery factory in ‌the state, Attorney General Jeff Jackson said in a statement.

  • VinFast has abandoned work on the 712-hectare (1,759-acre) site in Chatham County for over a year, according to the statement issued on Thursday.
  • VinFast was earlier licenced to build the plant with commitments to create 7,500 jobs and invest over $3 billion in North Carolina, the statement said.
  • "VinFast has defaulted on its agreements with the State, and VinFast's continued inaction all but guarantees imminent further default," it said.
  • VinFast told Reuters it had not yet received any official documentation from the State.
  • "Contracts with contractors have already been signed, and construction activities are expected to commence shortly in accordance with the planned schedule," it said in a statement.
  • In 2022, VinFast said the plant would have an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles. In 2024, it said it would delay the launch of the ‌plant to 2028 amid market uncertainties.
  • North Carolina should be allowed to exercise its option to purchase the land for a future manufacturer, and wants to be repaid $80 million allocated to VinFast for site preparation, the statement said.
  • VinFast initially targeted to have the factory up and running by July 1 this year, but had later said it couldn't do so until 2028, according to the statement.
  • The EV maker said in the statement that recent changes in U.S. policies related to the EV industry have impacted the project timeline, requiring more time "to evaluate appropriate implementation conditions".
  • VinFast announced last week it will sell its Vietnamese manufacturing business for 13.3 trillion dong ($506 million) to a group of investors who will also assume roughly $6.9 billion in debt.
  • Shares in Vingroup, VinFast's parent company, fell 3.5% on Friday morning in Hanoi.

Massive steel complex over an area of 460 ha. The plant is to supply steel for Vingroup's construction projects and automotive production. The plant's rolling mills are from 1750 mm to 2250 mm. The production line is provided by Primetals Technologies, a world premier supplier of steel plant production technologies. They have supplied for many Chinese and South Korean steel plants.

New concept to lure more expensive tourists,
while Thailand lures cheap tourists.

Why you people still have deep paranoia about China all the time ? I have one solution for you guys, all Vietnamese together just paddle the landmass of Vietnam across the Pacific Ocean to the coast of California or across the Pacific then the Arctic passage to northern Europe coast. Then all your problems will be solved.

Not paranoid. Geography matters. The US is a threat to Canada and Mexico, Germany to Europe, China to Vietnam. Let take the assumption we can move to an island close to California the threat just changes from China to America. No problem is solved.

Maybe the Americans or Europeans will be nicer to you guys as Vietnam is their neighbor. :ROFLMAO:. Or paddle Vietnam to merge with the Japanese islands, much easier.

That’s not the solution. There is more racism in Europe than America although less towards Vietnamese, Chinese than other ethnic.
I thinking it’s better we expand our landmass towards the open seas.

Interesting, a woman is the new US ambassador to Vietnam. Congrats.

From 0 to 680,000, the number of Vietnamese live and work in Japan.
The Japanese gov now makes harder for foreigners that want to open a small business. To obtain a business visa the capital investment must be at least 30 million yen Instead of 5 million yen.
Also, more restrictions to obtain workers visa
The pace of immigration of Vietnamese into Japan will show down.

There are complex historical, cultural, and geopolitical factors at play here, and you need to consider the issue from the perspective of the rulers. If the US controls Vietnam, although Russia to the north is relatively friendly, China's south and east will still face threats simultaneously. Historically, China will not allow threats from two opposing superpowers to coexist—this is the underlying reason for the Sino-Vietnamese War, when the Soviet Union's power threatened both China's north and south. Therefore, regardless of the state of Sino-Vietnamese relations, China will inevitably aid Vietnam again in its fight against the US.

However, if Vietnam becomes pro-China, it will be assimilated by China's power due to cultural, political, and economic reasons. Therefore, the rulers must constantly confront China; they need anti-China sentiment among the people, but they must also prevent fanatical nationalism from undermining economic cooperation. In fact, for the same reasons, North Korea is constantly aligning itself with Russia, and Singapore is constantly eliminating its Sinicized aspects. A living Rome is actually very frightening for "Roman descendants."

In reality, as long as Vietnam remains neutral between the superpowers, it is the safest place. Meanwhile, Laos and Cambodia pose no threat whatsoever, which is why Vietnam does not allocate a large budget to upgrading its outdated weapons.
