Indian Army News & Discussions

They have still not phased out Alloutte II?
The question is when a PAF jet crashed last week, on the same day, Indians were questioning Pakistani authorities for not releasing any details and here the Indians reported an accident three days after it happened on 20th May.
Do these weekend warriors have the courage or morals to question their own warlords !!

Atmanirbhar Armenia, atleast it's great to see someone buying these weapons in bulk.

MOD putting in huge orders when? Or are we still waiting for some foreign models :(

Except KSSL MaRG, almost every major Indian system has already received bulk orders. GoI recently ordered 307 ATAGS and 100 more K9 Vajra guns. Heavy artillery systems are not inducted overnight. These guns need years of testing, crew training, ammunition integration, maintenance setup and operational evaluation before armies buy them in large numbers. Every major military power does this because artillery is expensive and stays in service for decades.

But honestly, the KSSL MaRG 155/52 deserves proper evaluation by the Indian Army because this is not a normal system. Kalyani has managed to put a full 155mm/52 calibre gun on a 4×4 vehicle, something usually seen only on much larger 6×6 or 8×8 trucks because of the huge recoil and weight.

If it works reliably, it could be very useful for places like Ladakh, Sikkim and Arunachal where smaller and lighter vehicles can move faster on narrow mountain roads. A system like this can fire quickly and relocate fast before enemy counter battery fire arrives. That is a big advantage in modern warfare. MaRG definitely looks like a system worth testing seriously.
