Visit of the arny to Russia’s most modern shipyard in Moscow it makes 20-30 ships a year especially electric vessels, unmanned ships. Russia’s industrial capacity is deteriorating fast. It takes Russia 10 years to produce a frigate.

If Vietnam engineers copy and paste the shipyard, I think we can produce 100 ships or more a year.

Technically it makes sense to have artillery gun not symmetrical but tapered. When the shell is ignited, the explosion causes the most excessive heat at the rear of the barrel.

So that's the HV-01 sonar, I see Vietnamese language on the user display screen there. This sonar is by the Naval Institute, but surprisingly, Viettel also has their own sonar and they will display that to the public during this December defense expo. Other crucial technologies for submarine are INS-FOG-MTA and they have also been able to "localize" them; without these, when a submarine dives it will lose its GPS signal and has no idea where it will be heading under the sea.

Back in the old Pakistan defense forum,
I think Vietnam missed the opportunity to buy more submarines with technology transfer from Russia. Now Russia is in very bad shape.
Now we need to acquire the technology piece by piece, that will take time.

Vinfast wants to sell 1 million cars a year in 2030. If the company can maintain 35% growth rate a year. 61% in Q1/2026. Maybe resume the construction of the US plant?

Lol. Not a chance with technology transfer from Russia. The Russian is the last one to even do that. They already got traumatized by letting the Chinese assemble the Su-27 after the collapse of the USSR in the early 90s. If you follow Viettel's missile development you will know that the Russian was offering Viettel to assemble the complete Kh-35 after a 10-year span, how insulting is that . But it's also good that the Russian never offer us any technology transfer because it forces us to do our own research and build up our own industries that we have now..just as the old Vietnamese saying "Difficult situation brings out the smartness of a person". Just look at the warship, we have been able to manufacture practically every major component: 30 mm and 76 mm guns, AESA radar, IR/EO sensor, anti-submarine rocket, decoy flare dispenser, Antiship missile, medium and short ranged anti-air missile, sonar, torpedo and that's just for a warship. Achieving these feats was never easy for us. We kept our heads down, worked hard, and struggled for at least 20 years without receiving any assistant from anyone; it's understandable because nobody is going to give away something strategic like defense technology to anyone. Back in the late 2000s Viet Nam placed an order for submarines and support for over 3 billions, not big but definitely chump change either, do you see the Russian offered us any industrial offset? Not even technology to produce the 30 mm gun.

The news goes almost unnoticed. The Chinese build a 135km highway connecting Cambodia capital to Vietnam border for $1.7 billion.
Upon completion in 2027 the 4 lane highway will connect directly to Vietnam’s autobahns. Cambodia export dependency on Vietnam sea transport will dramatically increase.

What happens with the Cambodia canal project financed and built by China?
