"Iran" did "nothing" many times...that does not mean it's good to "do nothing". For example "we" did not finish north-south corridor, have not finished it yet because "we" said "we" are in need of 600 million USD funding, while 4000 Million USD disappeared for to "import" Debsh tea.
About Caucasus we could have acted at least preventive, we could have defence cooperation with Armenia, we could already have built a corridor through Armenia and Georgia and have warned even before the war started about consequenses of endangering this corridor.. this way we could have acted pro-active instead of waiting to see what happens, following the facts and reacting based on new outcomes. A bigger mistake was not letting Armenia take more land, we prevented Armenia from capturing more area in their first war.
About Russia-Israel ties.. you're exactly correct, they have their own interests, we should have our own interests and it's good that you see that... because some people think puting or russia is an ally or something. Russia is not the lesser evil, it's either as good or as bad as the other powers. In politics you have to create a balance and not lay all your eggs in one or 2 baskets (Russia, China). We should have ties with US, India, EU as well, but ofcourse from a strong and independent position, this way we can create a balance.
No way that a power like Iran should tolerate words of some newcomers about Iranian islands. I'll tell why Iran does not take countermeasures... because we put our foreign policy eggs in just 2 baskets.. (China and Russia).. then they will dare to tell GCC that our islands are for negotiation. Secondly Iran is silence and does not take counter measures by counter claiming Bahrain and I will tell you why... because the weak forein policy has made Iranian companies and our thieving corrupt elite dependent on UAE... I mean debsh tea money should disappear somewhere right? if not Canada, UAE and Turkey are nearby.
Pakistan, India, Israel, Russia, France have nukes and talk with different powers... Iran should have it to.. or should at least enreach 90% and keep a large Uranium reserves for 100-500 nukes + Hypersonic ICBM and second strike options from submarine and warships. In the last scenario that we don't create nuclear weapons.. all sanctions should be lifted and we don't put anything on paper about not going nuclear.
No because those powers you speak of and so fondly want to cuddle up to have all agreed that international law prevails at the UN, and there it was decided that that land belongs to Azerbaijan. Both Iran and Russia agree with this, it's just you who's clearly a bit confused here. You can't claim to want to pander to the world, yet also stick your middle finger up to international law. If you want to join the club, you have to play by their rules and dictats. Not very independent, if you ask me. Also, the islands are a dispute and I'm pretty sure according to international law they belond to Iran. Either way, to compare the Islands with nagorno-karabagh is nothing short of nuts!
Putting words in speech marks looks really tacky by the way and doesn't add anything to your point. You may think you're the king of kings of Iran sat in your bedroom, but you're not speaking for anyone except yourself. Iran didn't do certain things because its survival depended on it and cooler heads had to prevail. I don't know of these numbers you're throwing at me, and can't verify them. But as a curiosity, why should Iran foot the bill for a corridor?
Also, why should Iran increase its enemies over a piece of irrelevant land? Iran doesn't have that muscle either to threaten nations like that. You talk about talking with all powers but you also want fight them too. Again pure volatility and emotion.
Iran will never be a strong independent power over US and Russia! It has to choose either this way or that way, and neither way will accept Iran as a nuclear power. These are pipe dreams. Iran has not been truly independent for some time and it started long before the revolution, before you start your Islamophobic rant.
Russia and China are a lesser evil in that they don't insist on changing and manipulating the internal affairs of Iran, which should be a tipping point for someone who likes some degree of independence. The other option, i.e the west, means there will be no independence, and this is stating the obvious.
Well, that money will have to get invested somewhere, right? If it's not UAE it will be somewhere else, and, wherever that may be, you will still find some sort of threachery against Iranian interests there. Do you think the west wouldn't insist on Iran "giving back" the Islands to UAE? They would actually sanction Iran and threaten them if they didn't. And if Iran were to become this independent superpower which you dream of, then you would have both Russia and the west calling on Iran to refer to international law on those Islands. There's no escaping this. So let the dogs bark, for the caravan keeps on going!
But Iran can still have nukes without having to pander to any which way, right? It seems in your world view Iran would have to speak to powers as a way of asking permission to have nukes, and then Iran wouldn't be allowed to use them anyway. Iran should develop nukes regardless, and that would be how a true independent power acts. But not as a first strike policy and not against civilian populations. You can use those nukes tactically and wipe out fleets and bases quickly. That should be enough to win a war without massacring people.
