The exact reason why they bombed the top tier universities and Pharmaceutical companies.
But VCheng told me Iranians are eating grass?
Looks like naval blockade proved more effective than even the bombing compaign. From the same source link:
The draft Trump has shared is not vastly different to the one that has been circulating across the Middle East for days, under which the strait of Hormuz would be opened to commercial shipping, the US blockade of Iranian ports would be lifted and Iran would be given access to as much as $12bn (£9bn) in frozen assets.
The aim would be for commercial shipping in the strait to return to pre-war levels within 30 days and for negotiations envisaged to last as long as 60 days to commence on the future of Iran’s nuclear programme. This would include discussions about its stockpile of highly enriched uranium, a time-limited suspension of further enrichment and supervision by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN’s nuclear watchdog. Iran would renounce the use of nuclear weapons.
... ...
The current scope of the agreement would be deeply unpalatable for Israel, because it defers Iran making any firm nuclear commitments and requires a permanent ceasefire to include Lebanon.

A nuclear program under watch with HEU dissolved and much of nuclear infrastructure gone, is great win for Trump at the cost of us poor third world countries suffering through severe inflation.

I wasn't for this war but to say US lost is delusional when right now they control Iran's fate. Also once again the US fought this war with one arm tied behind its back it didn't go all out when it could.Only thing the war did is exposed limitations of US military hard power and it has risen the geopolitical status of Iran many times over. It has also proved that Iran is not a walkover as US had thought previously.
As far as nuclear program is concerned, remember the Fatwa, Iran had no nuclear weapon program to begin with. So Iran lost nothing. Iran will only gain with sanctions relief and potentially assets unfrozen.
Nethanyahu-Trump's number one objectives of war were regime change and eliminating ballistic missile capability. They lost badly. Anyone can see this.
Having said that, Iran did lost a lot of military systems / infrastructure during the war too but its nothing that they cannot rebuild quickly. They will make more and better learning from the experiences of this war.
Iran is folded up from across the middle east quite effectively.Only thing the war did is exposed limitations of US military hard power and it has risen the geopolitical status of Iran many times over. It has also proved that Iran is not a walkover as US had thought previously.

Against any other country, Iran would have effectively choked the world trade through Red Sea and Hormuz. But US is the different beast.
They first neutralized Houthi threat and then came for Iran with great resolve.
