Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Democracy only works in homogenous, prosperous and educated societies.

In a multi ethnic state - it is a lethal system that accentuates sectarian divides - as voters inevitably vote along sectarian lines.

In an illiterate and poor society - democracy becomes a tool to exploit the gullible. Because the illiterates do not respect plurality of thoughts and ideas.

Iran has the best system given its ethnic makeup.

China has the best system given its Confucian culture that is rooted in meritocracy. One thing democracy is not - is meritocratic.

A Trump like figure would never rise to the top in China.
Damn, so much truth in this sport, people don't wanna give it the likes it deserves.

America has democratic style dictstorhip today- that's the harsh truth. Real democracy is a construct in US that many naively believe, mainly to feel better about their country and keep their outsized egos satiated.

This is not a discussion about power structures... however the word largely used for democracy is a misnomer ... the gullible play and lose every single time... like a addict on drugs or lottery. Can't see past the high or the odds... keep chasing the high... or feel they still have a chance. Remain invested and that is the hook!

Ones playing them keep changing the narrative and gullible keep chasing... keep making sense of it... keep following the rules that makers keep breaking. It is perfect for those who want to stay engaged and useless for those who see past it. Besides, Iran and China don't seek to rule others... US has an empire to keep while keeping the mirage running and kids signing up for wars thousands of miles away in whatever way they reconcile with their deployment.

I wasn't for this war but to say US lost is delusional when right now they control Iran's fate. Also once again the US fought this war with one arm tied behind its back it didn't go all out when it could.
Stop posting rubbish

They carried out the most intense air campaign since the Iraq invasion and it ended in total failure not a single objective met.

This war exposed limitation of airpower. Baring tactical nukes your not taking out a missile city.

Ironically Iran controls the US fate in the region now they found a good way to retaliate against US, hit those easy targets in the arab countries. US will need to look to reduce bases or consolidate them in Israel/ Jordan.

This wars been a catastrophic failure for the US, only thing you could credit trump for is he didn't commit ground troops and turn them into a meat grinder like in Ukraine.

Possibly sent to detect Iranian air defence location

Becoming a daily occurrence! Ceasefire Israel-Lebanon style.

Looks like naval blockade proved more effective than even the bombing compaign.

A nuclear program under watch with HEU dissolved and much of nuclear infrastructure gone, is great win for Trump at the cost of us poor third world countries suffering through severe inflation.

I would still caution everyone not to declare victory for either side, given that nothing is finalized yet, and the devil often hides in the details.

Much of much of what is being reported is merely childish posturing for the media and the gullible fools on both sides, and nothing much more than that.

The two things that would be good indicators of which side comes away with the upper hand will be tolled transit through the Strait for Iran, and getting rid of the nuclear program for the US.

We do not know about either at present.

Are the US and Iran close to reaching a peace deal… again?

The US and Iran still need to work out several sticking points before an agreement on the war can be reached, Vice-President JD Vance has said.

Asked by the BBC if President Donald Trump was close to signing a deal, Vance said it was too early to say "when or if" the two sides would finalise an agreement.

Earlier on Thursday, US officials told the BBC the two countries had agreed a framework of a deal - known as a memorandum of understanding - pending the approval of Trump and Iran's leadership.

It would reportedly extend the ceasefire for 60 days and launch talks on the future of Iran's nuclear programme. Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported it had not been finalised or confirmed.

Speaking on Thursday evening, Vance said negotiators were "going back and forth on a couple of language points", which include the "question of enrichment".

"We're not there yet, but we're very close and we're going to keep on working at it," he told reporters.

The US has long demanded that Iran stop producing highly enriched uranium and dispose of its existing stockpile, which in theory could be used to create nuclear weapons.

Iran insists its nuclear programme is entirely peaceful and denies it is seeking to develop nuclear weapons.

Vance struck an optimistic tone as he spoke to reporters in Washington DC, saying the US believed the Iranians were negotiating in "good faith".

US President Donald Trump has held a meeting to make a "final determination" about an agreement to extend a ceasefire with Iran.

He said Iran must agree to never have a nuclear weapon or bomb, that the Strait of Hormuz be reopened for "unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions", and that any mines in the waterway are "destroyed".

Trump said Friday's meeting was held in the White House's Situation Room, used for dealing with major crises. Iran earlier said it was not negotiating its nuclear programme.

The deal would reportedly extend the ceasefire for 60 days and launch talks on the future of Iran's nuclear programme.

Hiding behind their masters.

I doubt very much …. Americans use Western media to create friction and division …. First they blamed Saudis for pushing for the war and now giving credit to UAE ……

UAE probably paid them to advertise that they still have tiny little testicles ….

Which we all know is untrue ….
