Arihant isn't a tin can that sinks because someone forgot a door. It's a double hulled SSBN with an outer hull, a separate inner pressurised hull and ballast tanks between them. If it had actually sunk, it wouldn't have gone on to carry out deterrent patrols and multiple SLBM tests afterwards.

Pakistan lucked out

We were friends with China when China was still a large underdeveloped state with multiple problems and big hopes

We established a deep friendship and alliance with China during those times that developed into what it is now

China then had a meteoric rise into the world's manufacturing engine and superpower in waiting

That suddenly gives Pakistan a position where we can turn to our close friend for things and support that the west would never give us



Our relationship with Turkey is similar, long standing and historical
Whilst China is the iron brother, Turkey is the blood brother and Turkey too has ambitions alongside the Turkic world and is developing fast and that once again puts us in a strong position


Pakistan has many faults, but our ability to make these vital alliances is actually impressive


After Hangors we need nuclear subs and as long as we can find the money or external funding we have the allies to support these ambitions

The sub did suffered severe damages. Point is how can such event happen at first place with a professional navy? This only shows the level of incompetence of IN sailors. The one which sunk without even being deployed, was actually docked (again lack of professionalism / training / lack of maintenance, I'd say) was INS Sindhurakshak, a kilo sub.

Now to double hull thing. The ballast tanks may help in avoiding flooding but overall it has its own advantages and dis-advantages. It's a design preference. The US most modern virginia class subs are single hull, the German, french, swedish subs are single hull.

AI can be bias, but I'd definitely agree with it to not include india's subs anywhere in "advance" category. Its one of india's first attempts at building nuclear subs. You can't expect a newbie to do wonders right from start. But I totally accept that india building a nuclear sub is already a big achievement.

AI obviously take those submarines whose information and data being discussed on internet since decades.... comparatively India has recently entered into this club and hence AI might not have taken that data.... but it doesn't mean that Arihant is some substandard submarine....

India has an experience of operating Russian SSNs twice and Russia has assisted us on this program with even miniature nuclear reactors..... so you trying to potray as if India is something a complete newbie to nuclear submarines is really meaningless.....

India has operated nuclear submarines, built own nuclear submarines and have decades of valuable experience in this field with Russians so we know exactly what are the requirements and what makes an advance nuclear submarine....

Surprising is everytime Pakistanis come to lecture be on aircraft carrier or nuclear submarines where they have ZERO experience or access....
