Why do they kw want to end the war? It's less because they never wanted it to happen and all about the fact that the war is lost, so logically, the war needs to end, to prevent further losses and disasters that could arise from the war continuing.

Yes I agree.

One US ship has to be hit then only deterrence will be restored. Even if US strikes back they will be more than wary to escalate issue such as this.

Right now it seems that US is more than ok to engage in low intensity strikes to send a message. Iran cannot allow that and must wrestle bXkthe escalation ladder.
