BEIJING: PIA has announced the resumption of its direct flight service between Islamabad and Beijing, effective July 3.

The revival of the Islamabad-Beijing-Islamabad route comes amid growing demand from students, business professionals, tourists, and families seeking efficient and convenient travel options between the two nations.

PIA reaffirmed the national carrier's commitment to strengthening bilateral connectivity and supporting cooperation in tourism, trade, education, and cultural exchanges.

The airline emphasized that the resumption of direct flights aligns with efforts to further deepen people-to-people contacts.

has the new management taken over the operations yet? We're eagerly awaiting for fleet and network expansion of PIA so our people can take advantage of direct flights to/from Pakistan

KARACHI: A private consortium which now owns major stakes in PIA has appointed the airline's new chief financial officer (CFO), Mushtaq Rana, as part of its broader restructuring plans ahead of a potential takeover, sources revealed on Friday.

Rana will formally assume charge on June 8 and is expected to oversee the airline's financial affairs following the consortium's takeover. Rana previously served with a Saudi airline, bringing international experience to the role.

Sources disclosed that the consortium is planning a major administrative overhaul within PIA. Key positions are expected to be filled with highly qualified professionals.

First they need to get all the currently-grounded fleet back up in the air generating revenue. Specially the longhaul B777s (currently at least 6 are grounded out of the total 12 that PIA has), as well as the A320s

And then obviously fleet upgrade and expansions with newer aircrafts for the longhaul, as I believe that the A320 are adequate for shorthauls and regional flights.
Hopefully soon inshAllah
