F-4 M new missile

You can be 100% certain that the new Kowsar jet has new weapons, and this will be revealed soon. Iran continues to innovate, and its scientists and developers are more motivated than ever.View attachment 198246

That's a typical TER pylon adapter on a Phantom and so this cannot be an AAM. IMO it looks more like a distorted image of a Mk.82-class bomb than a missile and surely never ever a modern medium-range AAM.

Should Pivot to China like Pakistan. Russia is a fragile country held up by one man (Puntin) who is hell bent on having positive relations with USA.
As a Chinese person, I can say objectively that Iran doesn't need to turn to China. All you need to do is accept China objectively and fairly. Get to know him, understand him. There are many fundamental differences between Chinese culture and Western culture.

Finally, I was waiting for this. Though I had also hoped they would hide these pilots and refrain from doing an interview. ( these guys have a big target in their backs now , may allah protect them )

Iran started engine modification of F5 with Russian RD-93 around 2016 and also engine upgrade started of Mig 29.

As of March 2026, Iran operates the world's largest remaining fleets of F-4 Phantom IIs and F-5 Tiger IIs, equipping roughly 11 of the IRIAF's 18 fighter squadrons. These U.S.-designed jets from the 1950s-60s are outdated by modern standards, lacking advanced radar, avionics, electronic warfare suites, and beyond-visual-range missiles that define 4th and 5th generation fighters. Sanctions prevent new acquisitions, forcing reliance on local upgrades to engines, radars, and weapons, but core airframes remain 60+ years old with limited serviceability, making them vulnerable against contemporary air defenses and fighters.
