Sea Sultan Long-Range MPA | Updates & Discussion

Yeah the karsaz bridge had no view blocker back then you could see aircrafts parked and even could jump the walls , security was poor in those times. Now its somewhat better . Btw didnt we get new 2 p3cs after?
I hope they have blocked the view from Awami markaz mens' room as well....😬😬

AEW&Cs are no threat to TTPs. The Ts specifically targeted those only. They didn't bothered to hit fighter jets which actually bomb the shit out of them but went against the target which they were paid for. That whole event was a classic sabotage op using a proxy. India hurt us a lot in that attack and It was the sole beneficiary of that "terrorist" attack. Same with PC3s in Mehran base attack.

My only concern is that we never avenged it. We should have paid in kind. I still hope we will do full payment at the time of our choosing. We can't just let that happen without payback. India was able to neutralize our most important assets without waging a fullscale war but using a proxy is a wound that will remain fresh until avenged.

You still have a clean line of sight from the newly built shahrae bhutto, it passes very close to the PAF Faisal/PNS Mehran base boundary wall, and since it is elevated expressway, you can see far and wide across the air base.

Yeah, I think Faisal/Mehran should be closed down at some point.

Faisal base is just used for logistics now. It doesn't have any war time flying asset other then C130s and few transport helis.

Yes, Google maps only ever seems to show the occasional P-3C parked there these days

They were going for the maximum military and economic damage, and in that regard, they succeeded very well.

?
Yep, but that's totally separate event. Unrelated with Mehran and Kamra bases attacks.

US/NATO felt no threat whatsoever from Pakistan AWACS or anti-sub capabilities, especially at the time. Direct beneficiary and planner of Kamra and Mehran bases attacks are the indians.

As far as US in afg is concerned, their most devastating attack on Pak was a direct assault at Salala.

There is still significant manpower and infrastructure present there. But as others have said, that land is prime now. Like Navy/Government should auction it for dense commercial/industrial development as shahrae bhutto is right next to it. They can make some serious money.

PAF museum can remain and they can use the money to build a completely new air base at Hub, Balochistan.

100%, also Karachi Airport is just down the road, if you needed to station a temporary attachment in the area you could easily just take the Western part of Jinnah Airport (near where PIA engineering is based) plenty of ramp space and also surrounded by flat empty land so security can be less of an issue

Added benefit of being located by PIA ATR engineering facilities
