PAF needs to take up this concept:

An AD system that also has IR an EO sensor network is interesting given both monitoring, targeting can be done passively.

However Iran and Pakistan has very different interms of AD requirements so interesting to see if PAF experiments with this concept.

It is a very useful backup to have incase IAF/IA goes for standoff saturation attacks, we will still need something to deny the enemy air superiority. AM Aamir rtd has spoken about drawn conflicts, and how PAF will struggle.

A drawn conflict will be detrimental to Pak military as attrition piles up, similar to how Allied economical superiority eventually caught up to the Japanese latter during the war. It will be at the start of the conflict, when both countries will be evenly matched and that is when Pakistan must finish the war. I am sure the Air force was wary of this in the past but now that they will be fighting combined under the CDF and not some patwari or Insafi, I believe their concerns will be better addressed.

On the question of Iranian styled slower jet engine powered missiles that probably hit the F-15, well, it can work to ambush when aircraft are risking flying low and slow to aid in a special operation to bust the fissile material out of Iran, but not so much in open battle.

is there any information or specs available about this system? like range, radar , number of targets it can engage etc?

Has phased array antenna with a detection range of 45km coupled with EO sensor + laser range finder, each vehicle can engage 4 targets simultaneously.

Low cost extremely agile interceptor with semi-active radar homing. Should be able to provide decent point defense for airbases if paired with long Range sensors.

Definitely need these to be loitering near air bases and near the border, during times of tension, as a form of mobile/already airborne air defense. A very cost effective solution.

I don't think they are being procured for air base defense..........seems more like a system to accompany hi value mobile launchers, like that for Fatah and Babur missile launchers to protect them from UAV threats or other threats.....give them enough chance to launch missiles before TELs are hit by the enemy.

Air Base defense would be more like fully networked permanent systems, medium range and short ranged.

Aren't these for PAF? Why would they spare critical AD assets to guard PA army's mobile launchers when they don't have enough systems to guard their own assets adequately.
