Global Naval Power Rankings 2026 - US Navy Retains Top Ranking

It is doubtful that a single Ohio class SSBN with 24 Trident II SLBMs can end the world.

The Trident II SLBM is the traditional ICBM without the hyper maneuverability of the modern hypersonic missiles, which can be quite vulnerable to the modern mid-course interceptor in large quantity.
I didn't say end the entire world, I said it was a civilization ender.

Like an individual country could be a civilization

Since China fully controls the military grade rare earth, and it can easily field several thousand mid-course interceptors like the HQ-29.

The maximum salvo launch of the Trident II SLBM for the USN should be 14 * 24 = 336 missiles, let's say if China fields 3000-5000 mid-course interceptors to deal with the 336 Trident II missiles. It can potentially greatly reduce the US nuclear threat against China.

Fortunately, we also have it—the civilization reset button. We call it the quality booster for calming our opponents. This world is not about you having nuclear submarines and nuclear bombs.

Folks, the discussion is about naval rankings.

Kindly advise me how any discussion of interceptors is related.

That makes sense. Since there are only a few players in the civilization reboot, let's not form cliques. Let's discuss some common equipment instead.

Much of the world is about nuclear deterrence. To make the other side realize that launching a nuclear first strike would also result in their national suicide

If that's the case China I believe might have already launched a first strike against the us.

Fortunately, Chinese leaders are much more rational than you appear to be and know the nuclear threat is real

Fact of the the matter is the MAD scenario is still there and will still be there virtually indefinitely

And you are talking about future stuff, I could easily bring up future Columbia class SSBN. But we're supposed to talk about current naval power

So what were you trying to say earlier? Trident nuclear threats? You want to storm out of the dining table where the five permanent members of the UN Security Council are having a meal together? The cost would be that no one gets to eat.

China is naturally not an aggressive nation like the US.

If you guys hold this unequivocal advantage over China, it is very likely you guys would pre-emptive launch if China refuses your nuclear extortion.

Even now many of your warhawks are still dreaming to nuke China by convincing yourself that China only got few hundred nuclear warheads with limited ICBM number.

China always shows mercy to those less powerful nations and not try to harm them even they are actively trying to provoke China by blindly trusting the US.

And we see that the US has never spared the weak nations, and only viewed them as conquerable targets.

By switching from Ohio to Columbia because you also need to reduce your ICBM and nuke stockpile into a more manageable size.

FYI his flag is australian

and there were never any slaves in australia mostly because australia is such a young country by the time it was formed slavery has been outlawed around the world

Australia is much more worse than the United States.

Formed by the British at first gland by deporting all criminals from the Commonwealth to that island. Even sheeps, dogs and chickens were deported because the ecology was very sober.

When they actually formed into a second hand nation, the UK ordered them to be used as canon fodders in their overseas wars, like the Battle of Galipoli in WO I against the Ottomans.

Australia didnt need slaves. They were the slaves.

The nuclear triad.

And even now many of your warhawks are thinking and dreaming of the same thing. That you could nuke the United States without any retaliation and survive.

It doesn't matter to me how many nuclear warheads you have, the MAD scenario Is there.

The year is 2026, it is this time period that this thread is about

The US Navy’s Last Three New Warships All Failed. The Replacements Are Repeating the Same Mistakes.

The U.S. Navy’s last three flagship surface ship programs — the Littoral Combat Ship, the Zumwalt-class destroyer, and the Constellation-class frigate — all ended in cancellation, truncation, or a fleet far smaller than promised. Government auditors now say the ships meant to replace those failures are already repeating the same mistakes: starting construction before designs are stable and layering on requirements until costs and schedules spiral. The margin for another failed program has closed.

Without a robust shipbuilding industry as a support, this navy is just a house of cards.
