Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

Glad to see you are keeping yourself above sectarian bias .
No such thing as not being biased. We are all biased. I have a soft corner for Iran. I admire their resilience in the face of everything they're facing.

Not many countries could come out from a US/Israel bombing campaign in one piece. Let alone fire back anything of substance.

However it is also true that they are essentially holding the entire region and the global petrodollar hostage as leverage.

Better analysis is made when you acknowledge your biases and then analyze from the opposite perspective.
This is why I often get labelled an Indian false flagger on Pak-India threads.

Everyone admires Iranian grit though some people including me believe this grit is good ego booster, however it's leading Iran along with her neighbours towards disaster...ultimately iran will have to cave in , deck is stacked against her....Iran is not an innocent victim either , it's makafat a amal.

I don't think its a good situation where we have to exhange missiles with Houthies but we are living in difficult times, countries are falling and major changes are happening around the world, Pakistan happens to be in the middle of everything. If we did not show any spine for KSA after signing the PACT then what's the point? and no other country like Qatar and Kuwait will even consider signing such PACT with us, if we did protect KSA then sooner or later the 4 big powers will eventually comes to together to make even a bigger alliance which will include KSA-Pakistan-Turkiye-Egypt. These 4 countries alone hold massive manpower, Air power, resources and very strategic points.

I don't see Pakistan-Iran fighting but we may see Pakistan's entry into this conflict by hitting some Houthies targets, but again there is no point in discussing until it happens, no one is innocent here, Allah is observing everything... But our people are really the biggest Kanjers out there, a Irani will stand with his country, a Yemani will stand with his country, but a Pakistani will undermine his own soldiers, those who protect the country from turning it into another Yemen, or Iraq and Syria get abused, if we fight we are selling our soldiers for money, if we don't then we are cowards and slaves, if we try to negotiate peace we are puppet of USA/Israel, and if we don't then people will say that Pakistan missed a golden opportunity to score points.

It's not about Iran being innocent. There is not one country that can be considered innocent. For example, how would any other country behave if they had the same power as USA? Would they be any less imperial?

Iran is a badmaqsh and they have that dog in them. So do USA and Israel. The global world order belongs to gangsters that can fight. Everything else is luxury.

It is goys like us who got fooled into thinking there is a rules based order or some sort of international law. These are actually very new inventions that came about because some Europeans were horrified by the effects of WW1 and WW2.

Of course, everyone would love to see it calm down so we can have trade and fuel prices normalised, but imo, indications are for a long slog now.

Americans came in initially hoping for a swift decapitation and regime change operation like Venezuela/Iraq and now it's slowly turning into Vietnam 2.0. Iran has the whole deck stacked against her but it has also been preparing for this exact moment for a long time. Just have to wait and see who blinks first now.

Well said ...our self proclaimed intellectuals are creating a moral and intellectual quagmire for us.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Iran is a badmash with wobbly legs and big mouth....it will be nothing like Vietnam or Korea , couple of more punches will be enough to knock her out.

Pakistan may end up attacking the Houthis if need be - it does not want to and has conveyed that to Iran and through other channels.

But it will if it must.
Then Munir's Pakistan should not complain or start R-Rona if Chickens start coming home to roast then.

perfect analysis specially on our own people

Iran is messing it up big time.....

Now they're losing the sympathy from the rest of the world. The USA will hit with a might the Iranians will regret. The Japs and Germans did it last time. Don't undermine the "White" folks in the USA for they established themselves by exterminating the natives. It's in their DNA.....

For a reason, the Pak Deep State tried its best - even by putting its very own core interests at risk (for which it can sacrifice millions without a blink of an eye) - to dissuade Iran. Looks like it has failed.....

Ahh Persians Ahh! You never trust anyone, and you want to out-smart all.....

*The USA is no nation state. The folks don't share any common faith, tradition, culture, or history for they have no common thousand-years-old collective memory. They only share common interests to expedite their well-being. And, a man can go to any length to safeguard them. A man may forget and forgive the murderer of his father, but not the loss of his patrimony (Socrates).

Yes. I don't think the Iranians quite realise how serious we are. This is a irect threat to Pakistan's energy security and that will not be tolerated.
Pakistan can do some pinprick airstrikes on the Houthis, for the sake of show , like the airstrikes on the Taliban. It may even send a Navy ship. None of that will make a substantial difference to anything.
LOL.Dude, this is one of the stupidest things I have read. Its a question of our energy security, being able to run the country at all. Strikes won't be pinpricks. Or for show. Everything will be on the table then.
:Pakistan may fail to secure its flow of energy. That is possible. But it won't be for lack of effort.

A question for you. Has Iran survived up to this point on sympathy or because of their own solo efforts?

And how much more 'intensely' can the US bomb Iran before they straight up start using nukes?
Sympathy. Despite headlines, they haven't really accomplished as much as they need to win outright. America deaths are barely on double digits. No ship has been hit let alog sunk. Single-digit combat aircraft shot diown. They haven't been able to do anything to resist or at least disrupt American attacks on their country.

I am not denigrating them here. If a lightweight keeps standing and even gets few hits against a heavyweight, that is praiseworthy. That is better than 99% could hgave done.
But the best outcome for Iran was always a negotiated settlement. It was never going to win outright.

LOL... thought so...What blockade? Akhir baap, baap hota hain!
You know I said many months ago there is one nation that can stop this war and its China. Both the US and Iran will listen, the US knows what China can do if they continue their war and Iran knows as well if both parties dont come to a compromise what could happen.

Ofcourse China will act in its own interests, but right now it would be prudent for Pak, SA and other nations who are pushing for peace to push the Chinese to get more involved and push for a durable peace. That IMO is in Paks interest.

There is very little trust now between US/Iran, GCC/Iran and ofcourse Israel is sitting quietly now because they are absolutely loving this and the escalation that we are seeing. If the brakes are not hit soon we could be in a much worse situation, its quite depressing we are in a cycle of non-stop violence.

China will not get involved now. If no clear winner can be determined on the battlefield, it will be very difficult to reach agreement at the negotiating table. Besides, Iran and the United States are both unpredictable actors.Especially Iran: right now, they can’t even find a truly authoritative person whose words carry weight. The entire country has already completely fragmented into warlord-style divisions, with complex internal interests.

Have people forgotten the first ceasefire negotiation that drew so much attention? Pakistan mediated at the time, but afterward many Iranians complained that they had been deceived.

China has ample oil reserves. Even if it did not import a single drop of oil, it could still meet demand for at least six months. China also has advanced coal-to-liquids technology, once oil prices rise above $85 per barrel, coal-to-liquids can become profitable. China has sufficient sources for oil imports, and the United States, Russia, and Saudi Arabia all hope China will increase its oil imports. A U.S.-Iran war would further accelerate the development of China’s new energy sector.

Only when both the United States and Iran are exhausted from fighting and jointly ask China to mediate would China possibly step in as a mediator.
