Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

LOL... thought so...What blockade? Akhir baap, baap hota hain!
You know I said many months ago there is one nation that can stop this war and its China. Both the US and Iran will listen, the US knows what China can do if they continue their war and Iran knows as well if both parties dont come to a compromise what could happen.

Ofcourse China will act in its own interests, but right now it would be prudent for Pak, SA and other nations who are pushing for peace to push the Chinese to get more involved and push for a durable peace. That IMO is in Paks interest.

There is very little trust now between US/Iran, GCC/Iran and ofcourse Israel is sitting quietly now because they are absolutely loving this and the escalation that we are seeing. If the brakes are not hit soon we could be in a much worse situation, its quite depressing we are in a cycle of non-stop violence.

China will not get involved now. If no clear winner can be determined on the battlefield, it will be very difficult to reach agreement at the negotiating table. Besides, Iran and the United States are both unpredictable actors.Especially Iran: right now, they can’t even find a truly authoritative person whose words carry weight. The entire country has already completely fragmented into warlord-style divisions, with complex internal interests.

Have people forgotten the first ceasefire negotiation that drew so much attention? Pakistan mediated at the time, but afterward many Iranians complained that they had been deceived.

China has ample oil reserves. Even if it did not import a single drop of oil, it could still meet demand for at least six months. China also has advanced coal-to-liquids technology, once oil prices rise above $85 per barrel, coal-to-liquids can become profitable. China has sufficient sources for oil imports, and the United States, Russia, and Saudi Arabia all hope China will increase its oil imports. A U.S.-Iran war would further accelerate the development of China’s new energy sector.

Only when both the United States and Iran are exhausted from fighting and jointly ask China to mediate would China possibly step in as a mediator.

Sympathy. Despite headlines, they haven't really accomplished as much as they need to win outright. America deaths are barely on double digits. No ship has been hit let alog sunk. Single-digit combat aircraft shot diown. They haven't been able to do anything to resist or at least disrupt American attacks on their country.

I am not denigrating them here. If a lightweight keeps standing and even gets few hits against a heavyweight, that is praiseworthy. That is better than 99% could hgave done.
But the best outcome for Iran was always a negotiated settlement. It was never going to win outright.

And who is paying for all this? America just fights for free? Is it really a win when you fire 3 patriots at a Shahed drone?

I dont see it happening, if the US had to negotiate with them after a month of strikes, what will Pak achieve attacking Yemen?

I hope the military planners think really hard before going kenetic, they dont want end up in the same position as trump, stuck going up the escalation ladder and losing men, material and the backing of their people.
If you’ve committed to something there is only so much excuses, loopholes, u-turns you can do before you sour your partner on the pact.

Yes. I don't think the Iranians quite realise how serious we are. This is a irect threat to Pakistan's energy security and that will not be tolerated.

LOL.Dude, this is one of the stupidest things I have read. Its a question of our energy security, being able to run the country at all. Strikes won't be pinpricks. Or for show. Everything will be on the table then.
:Pakistan may fail to secure its flow of energy. That is possible. But it won't be for lack of effort.
The Iranians have tried to say “We’ll provide it to you”…

On what?
A pipeline that is basically useless?

Then what? Trucks and motorbikes which basically do a drop in the ocean of Pakistan’s needs?

The American Tax payer maybe but please dont be myopic on cherry picking costs without also commenting on the costs of Iranian infrastructure, power plants, civilian lives etc.

When did I say Iran is not facing cost? But when it comes to the threshold for pain the Americans definitely have less stomach for this far away war.

They are virtually creating a Vietnam 2.0 for themselves here if they keep at this pace.

Iran has previously fought a near 10 year war that changed its demographics due to the high death toll.
