That’s tangential discussion. What was meant was, it’s not that all they say turns out to be pure vaporware. Trying to get funding is a very normal practice.

Another thing that should be kept in mind is that we don't know exactly how good was Hamza MRAP. It was never bought by the army and we only saw 2-3 short clips hinting about them being on trials a few years ago but nothing followed up.
Another thing, which is not related to the thread but I think needs to be said here, is that for the past few years, there website doesn't seem to be working proparly either which lines up perfectly with what Ak01 said about them.

“hamza was pure vaporwave. They had no clue what they we're doing, funnily enough, i only found this out recently, i've had problems with cavalier's designs/production for years. No beef with them of course, i even was invited out to their facilities a few years back to check out their toys, but cavalier is one of those companies thats just trying everything and seeing what sticks. theres no actual direction, they're another example of 'design heavy' but 'production light', where they will pump out a trillion concepts HOPING the PA bites on one. Hamza was a bit of a joke, they couldnt design it themselves, ended up importing a chassis and bolted on their body. Cavalier's design was the body, nothing else, even that, they couldnt convince the PA to buy in to, i suspect mr pasha had to bribe the living daylights out of someone to get them to buy that thing, of which, they only ended up with a couple of units to send on a UN deployment”

Converting naval shipborne CIWS into a land-based air defense system is a good option for fixed point air defense, but it's too difficult for mobile air defense. A bigger problem is that there's a counterintuitive issue: the overall air defense cost of CIWS is far higher than that of short-range air defense missile systems.

An interesting real-world case can serve as a reference for Pakistan:

Oerlikon 35 mm twin cannon.

China acquired this weapon system in 1987 and obtained licensed production (Type 90 / PG-99). It was widely used and deployed within the PLA. Later, with the rapid development of the Chinese military's weaponry, China upgraded this system, developing the PGZ-09. The older towed PG-99s began to be decommissioned, with many transferred to the China Meteorological Administration.

However, after the start of the Russo-Ukrainian War, the impact of inexpensive drones in warfare was amplified. Therefore, the PLA began to resume the use and deployment of these PG-99s in the military.

Chinese weapons engineers have made simple modifications to these PG-99s, giving them some networking and digital capabilities, enabling them to form a matrix air defense system. When used with AHEAD munitions, they are highly effective against inexpensive drones and other low-altitude, low-speed targets, and are also inexpensive to operate.

Pakistan also has a large number of these weapon systems. Maybe. You could give it a try.

Agreed. oerlikons with AHEAD is a very effective option and should be the way forward for higher tier AAA instead of overly complicated (and expensive) solution which probably don’t even add much above what an oerlikon can do.
