You're partially right. Everyone knew that Arabs/Turks weren't going to play any significant role - no one was coming to their aid either diplomatically or militarily. So what exactly were the Palestinians hoping to achieve? I understand the brutal occupation they had been living under, but after Oct 7, it became 100 x times worse and affected every single Palestinian in Gaza. Surely this price isn't worth paying?
Hindsight is 20/20, my friend. The Gazans were imploding with anger over the events in the West Bank leading to Oct. 7 attack. They got a chance to take revenge and they took that. It is not like they were an established nation-state with long term policies, checks and balances, diplomatic alliances etc. And they did get Israel to a precarious situation through Hezbollah's help by late 2024 but then we know what happened, if you read my post above.
Anyway, Gaza is not the topic here.
